Wizz Air Launches Bratislava-Koลกice Route, Ryanair Follows Suit
Bratislava, Slovakia – โWizzโ airโ hasโค initiatedโ flights connecting Bratislava and Koลกice, prompting Ryanair to mirror the route, intensifyingโ competition on โthe โฃdomestic Slovak โคair travel market. The new Bratislava-Koลกice line addressesโ a previously unmet demand,offering a quicker alternative to โฃground transportation between the two cities.
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, โbratislava Airport had never surpassed 350,000 passengers โin a single month, with โคa previous โคpeak of over 349,000 recorded in July 2018.August 2023 saw Bratislava Airport achieve a record 350,000 passengers, with popularโข destinations including Antalya,โ London (Stansted and Luton), Burgas, Larnaka,โค and hurgada. โ Koลกiceโข Airport also experienced its most accomplished August,โ handling a โขrecord 126,574 passengers โฃ- a 0.6 percent year-on-year increase. Throughโ the first eight months of 2023, Koลกice Airport processed 581,294 passengers, a โข10 percent increaseโ compared to the same period last year, โwith 372,736 traveling on regular lines (a 21 percent year-on-year increase) and 206,970 onโ charter โคflights (a slightโข decrease).
