Kremlin Ready to Fight: Tusk Warns of Eternal War in Ukraine

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 26, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Tusk warns of “Eternal War” in Ukraine, Cites Russian Resolve

LONDON – ‌Polish Prime Minister Donald ‌Tusk has ⁣cautioned that ⁤Russia‘s ‍war in Ukraine risks becoming a protracted “permanent, eternal war” as long as ⁤Vladimir Putin remains in power, warning allies against⁣ a “sweet illusion” of distance from⁤ teh conflict. Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Times published October 26, 2025, Tusk highlighted Russia’s demonstrated willingness to endure hardship in pursuit of its objectives.

The assessment comes as the conflict enters its third and a half year with no ⁢clear resolution in sight. tusk’s warning underscores ‍growing concerns within European capitals‌ about the long-term implications of the war and ‌the potential for ⁤escalating risks. The stakes are immense: the future ‌of Ukraine’s sovereignty, the stability of⁣ the European security order, ‍and the potential for wider conflict.‍

Tusk ⁣revealed⁣ that Ukrainian⁣ President Volodymyr⁤ Zelensky expressed his nation’s preparedness to continue fighting for another two to‍ three years, while hoping the war would not extend to a decade. “I have no doubts that Ukraine will survive as an independent state,” Tusk stated. However, he emphasized Russia’s key⁣ advantage: “They⁢ are‌ ready to fight. (…) In times of war that is the absolutely crucial question,” adding,”You have no chance of winning if you are not willing to fight or at least make a sacrifice.”

Despite acknowledging⁣ Russia’s growing ⁢economic difficulties, exacerbated by new US ⁢sanctions⁣ targeting Russian⁤ oil companies, Tusk cautioned against assuming⁣ imminent victory. He further warned Britain that the conflict is not geographically distant, citing‌ Russia’s capability to reach European capitals – ‌including London – with nuclear-armed ballistic ⁣missiles and its ongoing cyberattacks.⁣ “They are ready to ‌destroy the‌ cyber infrastructure of our railways,⁤ our hospitals in Poland,” tusk ‍saeid.

Hamas Hands Over Fake Body: Israel Investigates Hostage Claims

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 15, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Ceasefire Complications: Hostage remains & ⁤Rafah Crossing

A fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas‍ is facing early ⁣challenges as teh return of ‌hostage ⁢remains has been marred⁤ by ⁢discrepancies.⁣ While Hamas was obligated to return the bodies of all 28 remaining ‌hostages by Monday,⁢ the process has been fraught ⁢with issues, including⁤ the delivery ⁤of remains⁣ that do not belong to abducted Israelis.

Israeli ⁣authorities confirmed that ‌one of four⁣ bodies handed over on Tuesday did not ‍correspond to any known⁣ hostage. This is not an isolated⁢ incident; in February,‌ Hamas admitted ⁤to mistakenly handing over ‍the body of a Palestinian woman rather of hostage Shiri‌ Bibas, sparking outrage in Israel.

The remains of ⁣three other individuals were identified as hostages:⁤ German-Israeli Tamir ⁣Nimrodi, Uriel Baruch, and Eitan Levy. The⁢ circumstances surrounding Nimrodi’s ⁢death remain contested, with ‌the Israeli army initially believing he died early in captivity, while ⁣the Hostage ⁢Families Forum suspects he was ‍killed consequently of Israeli strikes within Gaza.

The current ceasefire, which began Friday, represents the first phase ⁤of a peace plan initially proposed by former US President⁢ Donald Trump. Though, the delivery of incorrect⁢ remains casts a shadow over the agreement and ‍raises questions about Hamas’s commitment to its terms.

Rafah⁣ Crossing & Aid Deliveries

amidst these complications,Israel reportedly intends to reopen⁣ the Rafah border crossing between⁤ Gaza and‍ Egypt on Wednesday, anticipating the arrival of 600 trucks carrying vital relief supplies. This decision followed ⁢the initial handover of hostage remains. however, the identification of the ⁤false⁤ body may⁢ impact this plan.

The‍ Palestinian Authority has offered to assume responsibility⁣ for managing the rafah‌ crossing,⁣ a crucial point⁣ for aid distribution. Mohammad Shtajjeh, a special envoy for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, ‌stated‌ their readiness to operate the crossing.

Aid deliveries have already commenced through the Kerem Shalom crossing, and international organizations like the UN and the Red Cross are urging the opening of all crossings to facilitate increased humanitarian assistance.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, ⁣with the UN reporting famine conditions in parts of the territory two years after the october 7th⁤ Hamas attack that initiated the⁢ conflict. The prosperous⁣ and reliable delivery of aid is⁣ critical to alleviating the‍ ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Ukraine War: Russia’s Tank Reserves Plummet Amid Heavy Losses

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 8, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Russia‘s Tank Arsenals Diminish as Ukraine War Continues

Despite notable ‌depletion of Soviet-era‌ stockpiles and‍ reports of poor vehicle condition, ‌Russia’s tank war in Ukraine is not yet over. Analysis indicates⁣ a considerable decline in Russian main battle tank reserves over recent months, though continued production and repair efforts suggest a continued, ⁤if diminished, ⁤capability.

According to an open-source intelligence analyst known as‍ “Jompy,” who utilizes satellite imagery to track Russian⁢ military equipment, the ⁤number of ‌main battle tanks in Russian reserves has fallen from approximately 3,100 to around 2,500 between three and four months ago. His calculations, available here, also reveal that nearly 1,100 of ⁢those remaining tanks are in “very poor condition.” Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, ⁣overall battle tank reserves have reportedly⁣ decreased by 65 percent.

Jompy’s analysis focuses on largely Soviet-era tanks being repaired or repurposed by Russian industry to⁣ offset losses sustained on the Ukrainian front. He estimates ‌that the 624 remaining T-64 tanks, dating back to the ⁤1960s,are likely candidates⁢ for scrapping or being cannibalized for spare parts. Additionally,‍ 885 older T-62 tanks ‍remain in the inventory, and‍ are reportedly being⁤ repaired and redeployed.

A senior NATO official, speaking at the June summit in The ⁣Hague‍ (as reported by European Pravda), indicated a total of approximately 2,000⁢ older battle tanks remain on the Russian side.

Reduced Tank Deployments at‍ the Front

While older tanks are ⁣being refurbished, Russia⁢ is⁤ also producing new T-90 ⁤tanks at‌ an estimated rate of 200 to 300 per‍ year. However, Ukrainian ‍soldiers have reported a ‍noticeable decrease in the ⁢frequency of Russian tank deployments in⁤ recent months. Correspondingly,⁢ daily reports from ‌Kyiv regarding the ‍destruction or severe damage ‌of Russian battle tanks ⁣have significantly declined, sometimes reporting only ⁤one‍ or even zero tanks lost ‌per day.

A recent example of a ‌larger-scale ⁢tank attack occurred near Ortes defendantyniwka, were a unit of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade reported hitting ‌five main battle tanks and 13 armored personnel carriers wiht drones. ⁢

Continued Threat Despite Depletion

Despite the decline ⁣in numbers and the reliance on older ⁤equipment, analysts beleive Russia will continue to utilize tanks in its military operations. New⁣ production, ongoing repair efforts, and the reduced deployment in ‌Ukraine all suggest a continued, albeit‌ diminished, tank capability. The extent of vehicles held in hidden ‌storage facilities, ⁤inaccessible ‍to ⁤satellite ⁤analysis, remains unknown.

Western intelligence agencies assess that Russia is building up reserves,⁣ possibly for future use against ‍a ‌NATO state. The ⁤Kremlin’s forces retain a⁣ sufficient ‍number of main battle tanks to‍ represent a significant threat.

Beyond‌ main ‍battle tanks,‍ Jompy’s⁢ analysis also includes ‌other armored vehicles. He estimates 2,792 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) remain, ⁤with 1,525 in “very‌ poor condition,” and 5,038⁢ personnel carriers (APCs), of which 702 are also in poor condition.

Putin Offers Donetsk for Ukraine Peace Deal – Trump Seeks Quick Resolution

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor August 16, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

, Vladimir Putin, has proposed a framework for ending the ⁤war in Ukraine, ⁤according too reports from August 16, 2025.⁣ The proposal, presented to US President Donald Trump during a summit in Alaska, centers on Ukraine’s complete withdrawal from the Donetsk region⁤ in exchange for a freeze on the current front ‍lines.

putin reportedly offered to freeze the front lines in the ‍southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia alongside the Donetsk⁤ concession. He‌ also proposed a written guarantee against future attacks on Ukraine or other European nations. Moscow ‍also indicated a willingness‍ to allow Ukraine to recieve security guarantees, but not through NATO ‍membership. Additionally, the Kremlin seeks to reinstate Russian as an official ‌language in Ukraine and ensure the protection of⁤ Russian Orthodox churches within the‌ country.

Trump‍ reportedly shared Putin’s proposal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders,⁢ urging them to consider a ceasefire with⁤ Moscow. Though, both Zelenskyy and European leaders have rejected the idea of ceding territory to Russia, citing constitutional concerns.according to ⁢Ukrainian government officials, surrendering territory would violate the‍ Ukrainian‌ constitution.⁣ Military experts ‌note that losing control of the Donetsk region would be a significant economic and military blow to Ukraine, potentially opening the way for further ⁣Russian‌ advances. Currently, Russian forces control approximately 75%⁤ of the Donetsk region and nearly 100% of the Luhansk region.

A European diplomat, speaking to the Financial Times, expressed‍ skepticism about Putin’s commitment‍ to any agreement, stating, “Putin plays⁤ in the long run and will not keep⁣ his promises.” The diplomat contrasted Trump’s ⁢desire for a speedy deal with Putin’s more patient approach. Trump is scheduled to discuss the matter further with ⁢Zelenskyy in Washington on Monday.
