Traffic on the A59 is moving again after a lorry was lost with a blown tire

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com August 22, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

A lorry with two tires on the A59 near Oosterhout caused major delays on the motorway from Den Bosch to the Zonzeel junction on Thursday morning. At seven o’clock on Thursday morning the delay increased to more than an hour.

The delay lasted for hours, around 9am the right lane reopened and the delay subsided.

The problem was a truck with two blown tires. According to a spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat, it took longer than usual to break them off the road because two tires needed to be replaced.

From the Empel junction, traffic was diverted onto the A2, A65 and A58. As a result, these roads became busier than usual.

Traffic was also delayed on the A2 from Den Bosch to Utrecht, between the Empel junction and the Maasbrug, due to an accident. The right lane was closed. Then the delay was up to half an hour.

Redevelopment plan on McGuinness Boulevard completed

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com August 21, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The city’s Department of Transportation is calling for a protected bike lane in its latest proposal for redesigning McGuinness Boulevard.

The lane would run in both directions from Calyer Street to Meeker Street in Brooklyn, one in each direction from 7 am to 7 pm.

The plan also calls for parking lots nearby on both sides at night to reduce traffic.

But some residents and local elected officials wanted the protected bike lane extended south of Calyer, to the Pulaski Bridge.where there are currently two lanes of traffic, no daytime parking … and one unprotected cycle lane in each direction.

The Department for Transport issued a statement saying: “The redesign of McGuinness Boulevard will make this corridor much safer for everyone, including motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

They also say that the decision was based on the opinion of the community.

However, the group “Make McGuinness Safe” says: “Mayor Adams, for the third time, has revoked his McGuinness Boulevard road plan, to prioritize his donors over our lives.

“Apparently he has once again ignored the recommendations of his own Department of Transportation.”

Presenters Minna Kuukka and Kimmo Vehviläinen were immortalized in hilarious portraits. Tiia Heiskanen

The presenters Minna Kuukka and Kimmo Vehviläinen, who are known from the radio, can be seen in a new publication in special photos. The radio host duo has been immortalized in the images captured by speed cameras.

– Have you ever gotten a picture from an automatic speed camera? Well, Minna and Kimmo are, the text of the update says.

If you don’t see the image, you can view it here.

Vehviläinen does not look at the camera, but appears in the picture with his mouth open. The moon, on the other hand, seems to be looking directly at the camera. The update has quickly gathered likes and happy comments.

– Kimmo has his tongue in the middle of his mouth. One of the commenters thinks it indicates a rather high speed.

– Now selfies are expensive and I haven’t even been able to edit them. The best, writes the commenter accompanied by smileys.

One commenter gets a product idea from the pictures.

– Nothing but a new picture on the side of Nova’s morning coffee mug.

– I don’t recognize Minna, but @kimmovehvilainen does! The look of the previous day’s Linnanmäki roller coaster must have remained on it! just kidding in one comment.

A proposal has also been given for the beneficial or reuse of the images.

– You can then apply for a driver’s license or passport with that photo. After all, the picture is valid for a long time in the police system.

Another commenter sums up the pictures with laughing emoticons.

– Wanted, he blurts out.

China has admitted that the Hong Kong-registered Newnew Polar Bear vessel caused the gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia to break last fall, reports the South China Morning Post. According to the newspaper, the matter came out of an internal investigation by the Chinese authorities, the results of which were distributed to Finland and Estonia. According to the Estonian public radio ERR, the collision was an accident and it was caused as a result of a strong storm.

However, according to the spokesperson of the Estonian Prosecutor’s Office, the document in question has not been sent to their office and it “cannot be used as evidence in Estonian criminal investigations”. According to ERR, the report in question is currently circulating “in various ministries”.

The investigation is still ongoing

Finland’s Central Criminal Police refused to tell ERR whether it had received the report from the Chinese authorities. The joint Finnish and Estonian criminal investigation into the case is still ongoing. The focus of the research is NewNew Polar Bear, which both countries have urged China to urgently solve the related information requests.

Communications director of the Finnish Central Criminal Police Anna Zareff told ERR that the investigation is still ongoing, and the final cause of the accident will only be known when all the necessary investigation measures have been completed.

According to Zareff, the investigation has required cooperation with the Chinese authorities. KRP has, among other things, “submitted a request for legal aid to the competent Chinese authorities”.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to South China Morning Post’s inquiries.

The Chinese NewNew Polar Bear suspectedly damaged the Balticconnector gas pipeline on October 8, 2023. At that time, the previously unknown cargo ship was returning from its maiden voyage from the “Ice Silk Road” between China and Russia, i.e. the Northeast Passage.

The ship traveled the same route as the Russian nuclear-powered, ice-breaking cargo ship Sevmorput, which has delivered military equipment to Russian bases in the Arctic Ocean. A few days later, the ships left St. Petersburg along the Norwegian coast back towards the Arctic Ocean. Iltalehti reports about it.
