Pertti Salovaara received speeding fines.

“There is no money to take such fines every month”
 – 2024-09-19 21:14:04

Pertti Salovaara was fined for speeding today.

Known as a radio personality Pertti Salovaara faced a nasty surprise today when he received fines of almost 1000 euros.

Contacted by Iltalehti, Salovaara says that he was speeding in an overtaking situation in Hämeenkyrö.

– There are many explanations in the world, but I had a remarkably powerful car under me. I came from Rovaniemi and wanted to go home in a hurry, Salovaara opens up the situation.

– In overtaking, I went a little too far.

The speeding occurred in an area where the speed limit was 100 km/h. According to Salovaara, his meter read about 132 km/h at the time of speeding.

The police noticed the overtaking situation and stopped Salovaara to fine him for speeding.

– I honestly told them my guilt and my income exactly, Salovaara admits.

– Stupidity is fined. It’s right that the police are there to catch drivers who endanger traffic. I have nothing bad to say about officialdom. I can only blame myself for this.

He was fined exactly 992 euros.

– Tonni then clicked from there. Well, quite a few business trips went down the drain, Salovaara sighs, but still laughs afterwards.

– In my case, I have to say that I learned my lesson from this job.

He also shared a picture of his fines on Instagram.

– I hardly ever drive over the speed limit, and the one time I do, of course, a police officer pulls up in front of me with his shoulder up. The amount to be paid was €992. In the case of a person from Meikä, it’s a lot, he writes on social media.

Although, according to Salovaara’s own words, he doesn’t often drive too fast, the incident woke him up enough that he plans to pay attention to his driving habits in the future.

– Now I will have a complete overhaul of my driving habits. Firstly, through the fact that it is dangerous in terms of traffic safety.

– Secondly, I don’t have the money to take such fines every month, he admits.

This is how the fatal fall into the construction site pit happened – 2024-09-16 12:03:57

A man fell into a construction site pit in the center of Helsinki on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

There was an opening in the fence surrounding the construction site pit, which made it possible to fall into the pit, a relative of the dead man and an eyewitness to the events tells Helsingin Sanomat.

A man fell into a several-meter-deep construction site pit in the center of Helsinki on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The accident happened next to the Kaisaniemi Park and the Railway Station in an area where a lot of excavation work has been done throughout the summer. The excavations were related to the renovation work of the housing association next to the pit.

A relative interviewed by HS says that he was on his way to the railway station with the man. They decided to walk along the edge of the Kaisaniemi park, because it felt safer than walking through the park in the dark.

He says the man was walking ahead when he fell into the pit. Visibility was poor due to the rain and darkness.

– There was a half-meter gap in the fence and he apparently assumed that it was left for pedestrians to pass through, a relative describes the events to HS.

When Iltalehti visited the site on Sunday, fences surrounded the construction site. However, the HS reporter who visited the place noticed passers-by trying to move the fences, which are not fixed structures.

According to one of the passengers at Eindhoven Airport, air traffic control and the military police cannot send anything in on Wednesday morning. “Eindhoven Airport still does not provide much clarity for passengers. ”

MTA increases bus inspectors to stop evasion

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com August 27, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

According to data provided by the MTA, toll evasion numbers began to rise around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In fact, the bus system is the most affected and to stop more than 50% of passengers who do not pay the city bus fare, the MTA has organized inspectors on some local lines.

If you don’t pay, they could ask you to get off the bus as well as pay a fine for evasion.

The City Transportation Agency is making sure every fare counts and, in 2022 alone, they estimate they lost around 315 million dollars due to evasion.

This money is invested precisely in improving the service to hire more mechanical operators to have a bigger fleet of buses, and also in making the routes run more frequently, the entity emphasizing it.

MTA increases bus inspectors to stop evasion

They say that if some people need assistance, there are cases where less is paid, thanks to the fair rates program, elderly people, like some city residents according to the income, eligible for a 50% discount.

Some discounted students and all New Yorkers can save by purchasing weekly passes.

So, be careful, because from now on, there will be more inspectors on some of the local routes where these violations are often committed.
