The team has achieved‌ this success despite having key players like Nathan Eovaldi, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, ⁤Adolis García, and Evan Carter on the injured list, relying rather on ‍contributions from a wave of impactful rookie players.

“You keep the same⁤ approach. “It ⁢was a little confusion,” Peralta said. “When I looked, it‌ surprised me as well. I did balk.Yeah,I did.”

Peralta and the Brewers finished the road trip at 3-3 after winning ⁣all three games at Pittsburgh last weekend. They return home with an opportunity‌ to clinch a ⁤postseason berth and pursue ⁣their third consecutive division title – a feat the franchise has‍ never accomplished.

Nurse Blake‘s “But Did You Die?” Comedy Tour Coming to Ohio

CLEVELAND – Nurse Blake, a registered nurse and comedian known for blending humor with healthcare insights, is bringing her “But Did You Die?” stand-up tour to Ohio this October. The tour will include performances at Temple Live Cleveland Masonic on October 3, the Riffe Center in Columbus on October 5, and the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati on October 6.

Blake’s comedy draws heavily from her experiences in the medical field, resonating with healthcare professionals and the general public alike. She aims to connect with audiences by acknowledging the shared experiences of navigating the healthcare system, whether as a provider or a patient.

“I think whether you’re a nurse or whether you’re a patient or just the general public, we think we always have it worse. ‘This is the worst day ever.’ But it’s like,’But did you die?'” Blake explained in a recent interview with Spectrum News 1.

The show isn’t solely focused on lighthearted anecdotes. Blake is particularly proud of using her platform to address serious issues facing healthcare workers, such as patient abuse. “Being able to bring this up and talk about it in my show and shine a light on something serious that nurses struggle with on a daily basis is something I’m proud of, as even more than comedy, I love advocacy,” she said. She describes the challenge of incorporating such heavy topics into a comedy show, noting, “How do you talk about nurses being abused on the job? Hit, slapped, kicked by patients? It’s not easy.”

Blake recently completed a 30-day inpatient mental health therapy program, an experience that further informed her perspective on the relative weight of everyday struggles. During her shows, she frequently enough uses a running gag involving a member of the audience – typically a first responder – to help bridge the gap between medical jargon and public understanding.

Trump to Protect Prayer in Public Schools

Trump Vows to Issue Guidance supporting Prayer in Public Schools, Reigniting Church-State Debate

WASHINGTON – Former President Donald Trump announced plans to ⁢direct the Department of Education to issue new⁣ guidance aimed at protecting prayer in public schools, a move that promptly drew both support and criticism as it re-opens a long-standing debate over the separation of church and state. Speaking at the ⁤Museum of the Bible, founded by Steve ⁢Green of the hobby Lobby Green family, Trump did not provide a specific timeline for the directive.

“For most of our country’s history, the ⁣Bible was found ‌in every classroom in the nation, yet in many schools today, students⁢ are indoctrinated with anti-religious propaganda,” Trump stated.

The declaration comes amidst a growing trend of states seeking to reintroduce religious elements into public schools. Louisiana became the first state in 2024 to mandate the display⁤ of the Ten Commandments in public classrooms, a move later followed by Arkansas and Texas ⁢in 2025.

However, the Supreme Court has consistently ruled against mandatory prayer in public schools sence the 1960s,establishing legal precedents that limit religious expression within the classroom. These rulings have been the subject of ongoing legal challenges and ⁣attempts to reinterpret their scope.

The American civil Liberties Union (ACLU) ⁢swiftly condemned the potential guidance, arguing it ‍would violate the principle of separation⁢ of church and state. “when states impose religious doctrine, beliefs or‍ practices on‌ public schools, it marginalizes students who don’t share those beliefs and treats them as unwelcome,” said Heather L. Weaver, senior staff attorney at ACLU’s Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief. “Students who‍ do not feel safe and welcome in their school cannot focus on learning.”

Trump’s remarks also touched on recent acts ⁤of violence, referencing the August 27th shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis that left two children dead and 21 others injured. He⁤ stated that attorney General Pam Bondi is “working really hard” to understand‍ the causes of such attacks and vowed “no tolerance for terrorism or ⁢political violence, and that includes hate crimes ⁢against Christians, Jews or anybody else.”

The announcement followed a recent Trump governance consideration of limiting firearms access for individuals identifying as transgender, a proposal sparked by the Minneapolis church shooter, identified as Robin Westman, a transgender woman who‌ previously attended the school at the church. The Gay & lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ⁣(GLAAD)⁣ accused the administration of “scapegoating and targeting a‌ small and vulnerable population” rather of focusing on extensive solutions to prevent violence.

Indiana State Police Issue Urgent warning Over Surge in Online Scams

Indianapolis, IN – Indiana State Police are alerting residents to a significant increase in fraud and scam incidents, with a particular focus on schemes originating on Facebook Marketplace and involving high-value investments. Authorities report a recent influx of complaints, prompting a public safety message emphasizing caution when conducting online transactions.

The scams frequently involve individuals offering goods for sale – frequently enough vehicles or electronics – at prices significantly below market value. police say scammers typically request payment via digital platforms like Apple Pay, Venmo, or wire transfer before a physical exchange takes place, and often communicate solely through Facebook Messenger.

“Never send money for an item you haven’t personally inspected, or to someone you’ve only interacted with online,” a police spokesperson stated. “Arranging an in-person meeting is crucial before transferring any funds.”

Investigators warn that caller ID is not a reliable indicator of legitimacy, as scammers readily utilize technology to “spoof” phone numbers, making it appear as if the call is coming from a local or trusted source.Numerous free applications enable this practise, according to police.

Beyond Marketplace scams, authorities are also cautioning against unsolicited phone calls claiming your computer has a virus. Scammers frequently enough request remote access to your device or ask for sensitive banking facts under the guise of providing technical support.

“Legitimate companies will never ask for remote access to your computer or request your bank account details and passwords,” police emphasized. “If you receive such a request, hang up instantly.”

To protect yourself, the Indiana State Police recommend thorough research of any online seller or investment opportunity, seeking advice from trusted friends or family members, and remaining vigilant against deals that appear too good to be true.Reporting suspicious activity to both Facebook and the Indiana State Police is also encouraged.
