Meghan Markle’s Father Undergoes Leg Amputation Following โHealth Emergency
Thomas Markle Sr., 81, father of Meghanโข Markle,โ Duchess of Sussex,โ has undergone a life-saving leg โฃamputation after a seriousโ health issue, his son Thomas Jr. has revealed. The surgery,a three-hourโ procedure performed onโค Wednesday in the Philippines where Mr. Markle relocated earlier this โขyear, involved the removal of โคhis โคleftโ foot and โฃlower โleg.
According to Thomas Jr., a circulation problem caused the limb to โturn blue and then black, necessitating immediate intervention. “My dad is being very brave.His โฃfootโ turned blue and โขthen โblack. It happened veryโฃ quickly.โ I took him to โa local hospital โand they โคdidโ some โขscansโ and an โขultrasound and said the leg hadโฃ to be amputated,” โhe told the Daily Mail. “There โคwas โno option. I was told theโฃ leg had โคtoโฃ be removed and โit was a caseโค of life or death.”
Doctors were concerned about the potential โขforโค infection, including sepsis or gangrene,โ with one physicianโค stating the next โขtwo to three days are critical.โ “The flesh was black and dying,”โ Thomas Jr. explained. “It was either โ’we have to operate now and remove โขthe leg โor he may die. It was a life-threatening situation.'”
