Central Superintendent of Tax and Excise Arrested for Accepting Rs 1 Lakh Bribe in Kalpetta

Kalpetta: Vigilance arrested the Central Superintendent of Tax and Excise while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a contractor. Pravinder Singh, a native of Haryana, was arrested from Kalpatta New Bus Stand area. The complainant is a public works contractor from Mananthavadi.

The complainant had filed the GST return for the financial year 2018-19 with a deduction of Rs.10,13,752. Pravinder Singh, who discovered this, had issued a notice to the complainant on May 22 stating that Rs 21,035 should be paid immediately as interest. Following this, Pravinder Singh informed that when the contractor reached the office, he would have to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation in addition to the amount. Three lakhs were also demanded to avoid fine. He also said that the first installment of this should be Rs 1 lakh yesterday. Following this, the complainant informed the vigilance. Then Pravinder Singh was arrested when he was handing over a bribe in a car parked near Majestic in the bus stand area. The accused was caught by a team led by Vigilance Wayanad Unit DYSP CB Thomas.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala University is preparing for severe action in Kattakkada Christian College Union election sabotage. Action may be taken against the principal and the students. The university is of the opinion that the Principal’s explanation should not be taken at face value.

Principal G.J. Strict action may be taken against Shiju. The principal has been directed to appear before the university vice-chancellor when the university syndicate meets on Saturday. An explanation should be given on the controversies and impersonation related to union elections.

The Syndicate meeting will also decide on the election to fill the vacancy of Anagha who was elected as UUC. The meeting will consider whether elections should be held immediately. The syndicate will also check whether Anagha resigned voluntarily.

Thiruvananthapuram – Young woman died of burns in Putanthop. A nine-month-old baby suffered severe burns. Anju (23), wife of Raju Joseph Tinsili, died in Roja Dale in Putthantop. He was found dead in the bathroom of the house. The incident happened around 7 pm.

His nine-month-old son David is in a critical condition and is being treated on a ventilator at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The child’s condition is critical. Raju Joseph and Anju got married a year and a half ago. Anju is a native of Venganur. “Assistant Professor Found Guilty of Child Molestation in Thiruvananthapuram Clinic”

Thiruvananthapuram: The clinical psychologist Dr. K. Thiruvananthapuram Special Fast Track Court Judge Sudarshan found Girish (59) guilty. The sentence in the case will be pronounced on Thursday. During the period from December 6, 2015 to February 21, 2017, she was molested when she came for counselling. After the torture, the child’s mental condition became more serious. The accused then asked to show other doctors. The accused also threatened not to divulge the harassment. The child was afraid and did not speak out.

The family showed many other psychopaths. But in 2019, the child was admitted to the psychiatry department of the medical college hospital as the condition did not improve. On January 30, 2019, when the doctors took the case history, the boy told them about the accused having molested him two years ago. It was also revealed that the accused used to show obscene videos on the phone to the child. The doctors of the medical college reported this information to the police. After that, the police started investigation and arrested the accused. The police filed a charge sheet against the accused with the help of various departments including POCSO. The court found the accused guilty after a long trial.

He was arrested in this case while he was on bail in the first case. During the interrogation, other doctors who treated the child also said that the child’s illness worsened due to torture. The case was investigated by Kiran TR and A. Aneesh, both of Fort S. Special Public Prosecutor RS Vijay Mohan appeared for the prosecution.
