written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Geological expert Tony Nemer tweeted through his Twitter account, noting that “two earthquakes occurred today in the Syrian Sea with a magnitude of 4.1 and 4.2, affecting one of the four geological structures in the eastern Mediterranean.”

He added, “The more the earthquakes’ focal points are dispersed on these structures, the less the impact of the transmission of ground pressures as a result of the February 6 earthquakes, and this is what is happening, which is a good thing.”

5 Reasons Why Your Belly is Getting Bigger

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com May 15, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Obesity has become an obsession that haunts hundreds of millions of people in the world, amid great fear of the health consequences of excessive weight gain, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, while many resent the appearance of the belly associated with obesity.

According to the “Eat This” website, the rumen is not only embarrassing because of its appearance, but rather warns of wholesale health disorders, because it means excessive fat concentration.

And the fitness expert, Anthony Young, presents five reasons that lead to the swelling of the rumen and its transformation into what looks like layers when sitting.

1. Sitting a lot

Some people spend the whole day sitting on the sofas while watching TV and looking at their smartphones, without making a move, and this is not helpful at all, it is very harmful.

Experts recommend making sure to move from time to time, because sitting means burning fewer calories, and is more likely to gain weight.

2. Entertaining by eating

If you eat outside meal times, your hands are always full of chocolate or biscuits, then this is wrong, because you make your body consume a huge number of useless calories, with little nutritional value.

A study published in the journal “Psychology and Behavior” revealed that those who eat while using a mobile phone increase their calorie intake by 15 percent.

3. Making excuses

Some people realize that they eat fast food that is harmful to their health, but they try to find excuses to ease their consciences, such as saying: “I’m tired today at work, and the day was very hard, so I don’t mind rewarding myself with a burger or fried chicken.”

Some people may need the help of nutritionists to get out of this tunnel, and then they will find themselves observing a schedule that has been set for them strictly and accurately.

4. Too much unhealthy food

When a person eats unhealthy food, he becomes lethargic and reluctant to move, and he becomes more susceptible to heart disease.

Unhealthy foods contain addictive processed substances, and make the individual not hesitate to devour more sugar.

5. Not getting enough sleep

Food is what causes obesity, but there is another factor that is sleep, because a person who does not take enough rest remains more likely to accumulate excess weight, and see the rumen protruding forward.

Experts recommend that an adult sleep for at least seven hours, while people now prefer to stay up late amid screens and fatty food sandwiches.

“Diabetes on the Rise: Over 400 Million People Affected Worldwide”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com May 9, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Sky News
More than 400 million people around the world suffer from diabetes, according to the World Health Organization, amid a steady increase in the number of people with the disease.

The World Organization stated in a report that the number of people with diabetes increased from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014, explaining that the disease is spreading in low- and middle-income countries at a faster rate than the rate of its spread in high-income countries.

The organization revealed that premature death rates from diabetes increased by 3% between 2000 and 2019.

diabetes

Diabetes, according to global health, is a chronic disease that occurs in the following cases:

• When the pancreas fails to produce insulin in sufficient quantity.

• When the body is unable to effectively use the insulin it produces.

• There is gestational diabetes, which is hyperglycemia in the blood, so that blood glucose values are higher than the normal level, but do not reach the level necessary to diagnose diabetes, and this pattern occurs during pregnancy.

As for insulin, it is a hormone that controls the level of glucose in the blood, and the high level of glucose in the blood is a common result of a defect in controlling the level of sugar in the blood, and over time it leads to damage to many body systems.
The most important symptoms of diabetes:

Feeling very thirsty.
An increased need to urinate than usual.
Blurred vision and sometimes complete loss of vision.
feeling tired
Unintentional weight loss.
Damage to blood vessels in the heart, eyes, kidneys, and nerves.
Heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, nerve damage, and poor blood flow.
For his part, the founder of the liver tumors unit at the National Liver Institute and advisor to the Egyptian Center for the Right to Medicine, Mohamed Ezz Al-Arab, explained, in his interview with Sky News Arabia, that diabetes has two basic types:

• The first type: where the pancreas does not work and depends on external insulin, and it has several causes, including the destruction of pancreatic cells as a result of infection or other factors, in addition to genetic and hereditary reasons. Sometimes the disease is a side effect of taking some medications.

• The second type: It spreads more among the elderly, and affects more people who are overweight. It is also linked to genetic factors where insulin resistance occurs, and at other times the amount of insulin is insufficient.

The biggest problem is insulin resistance and it is called “the tip of the iceberg” as it results in several diseases such as diabetes, liver fat, weight gain, lipid imbalance, high blood pressure, coronary artery insufficiency, and cerebral circulation.
Ezz Al-Arab stated that some factors contribute to diabetes, such as:
High temperatures, hot showers, and dehydration contribute to imbalances in blood sugar levels.
Exercising in very hot weather.
Obesity, increased body mass index and metabolic disease.
– hypertension.
Genetic and hereditary factors.
The founder of the liver tumor unit pointed out that insulin levels may fluctuate in the body for reasons related to hormones:

There are hormones related to an increase in blood sugar, as the body secretes adrenaline and noradrenaline, as well as the so-called adrenal gland hormones, and thyroid hormones, all of which lead to an increase in blood sugar levels.
Some hormones are secreted more at dawn, which leads to a rise in insulin levels in the morning, even without eating breakfast, especially for those who are predisposed to diabetes or have it already.
Diabetics must eat breakfast before taking a medical dose of insulin, ensuring that the sugar level does not rise as a result of hormones during the day.
Psychological factor: Nervous tension leads to stimulation of these hormones, which causes high levels of sugar, so we see nervous people have higher levels of sugar than normal people.
With regard to dealing with diabetes, the consultant of the Egyptian Center for the Right to Medicine revealed that:

Every person must have his or her health evaluated in particular in terms of physical condition, body mass index, activity level, sleep times, food quality, and exercise.
The response to diabetes treatment may vary depending on each person’s health condition.
Lifestyle modification, exercise, proper healthy nutrition, and avoidance of stress are important factors to protect against diabetes.
– Staying away from Western habits in food and drink, such as processed meat and others, which are linked to diabetes and some types of cancer.
– Avoid fast food rich in saturated fats that are deposited in the liver and may lead to cirrhosis, affect blood circulation, and are responsible for heart disease and fat deposits in the arteries.
Relying on the traditional food of the Mediterranean basin, which depends on eating salad, fruits, and unsaturated fats such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, “hot oil,” and canola oil, which are beneficial mono-oils that contain omega-3, which includes antioxidants, and protects arteries from fat deposition. It is available in seafood, and is important for human health, joints, physical condition and activity.
