The dollar was able to achieve strong weekly gains this week, as the currency is heading to achieve its third weekly gain in a row, after the dollar rose by 0.7% so far, with the possibility of continuing its rise until the end of the session.
Regarding its trading against the other major currencies, the euro settled against the dollar at 1.0725 dollars, while the pound sterling rose against the dollar by about 0.26% to 1.2358 dollars.
At the same time, against safe havens, the dollar rose against the Japanese yen by 0.1%, recording 140.22 yen, while the dollar fell against the Swiss franc by 0.14%, recording 0.9047 francs.
As for its performance against commodity currencies, the Australian dollar rose against its US counterpart by 0.12% to $0.6514, while the New Zealand dollar fell against the US by 0.13% to $0.6055, and the US dollar stabilized against its Canadian counterpart at 1.3636 Canadian dollars.
The Central Bank of Egypt announced that the average price of the dollar against the pound recorded 30.83 pounds for purchase and 30.93 pounds for sale.
The lowest price of a dollar against the Egyptian pound reached 3 governmental and private banks, including “Egypt, Al-Ahly, and Industrial Development” banks, reaching 30.75 pounds for buying and 30.85 pounds for selling.
The second highest price of a dollar against the pound reached about 30.88 pounds for purchase and 30.95 pounds for Med Bank
The average price of the dollar against the pound in most private sector banks was about 30.85 pounds for purchase and 30.95 pounds for sale in the banks “Al-Ahly United Bank, National Kuwait, First Abu Dhabi, Arab International Bank, Qatar National Bank QNB, Commercial International Bank CIB, United Bank, Egyptian for Export Development Credit Agricole, Alexandria, Mashreq, Bloom, Attijariwafa Egypt.
