Noida Man Arrested for Threatening Mumbai with False Terror Alert
Noida, Uttar Pradesh – โA Noida resident has been arrested โคfor allegedly sending a threatening message to Mumbai Police claiming the infiltration of 14 Pakistani terrorists and a plot involving “34 human bombs carryingโฃ RDX” โฃintended to “shake the entire city.” The message, attributed to an organization calling itself ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi,’โ prompted a high alert inโ Mumbai as authorities preparedโข for Anant Chaturdashi celebrations.
The accused, identified as Kumar, was apprehended on Saturday following a swift inquiry launched by Noida Police in coordination with their Mumbaiโ counterparts. According to Additional Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Rajeev Narain Mishra, the threatโ was traced toโข SIM cards โpurchased in Noida.”A SWAT team, headed by me, was formed,” Mishra stated. “Using CCTV footage, local and manual surveillance inputs, we first identified the vendor of the SIM cards and then we zeroed in on the suspect.”
Police persistent Kumar intentionally sent the message to implicate a Bihar resident, Firoz, with whom he had โa prior legal โdispute. “In 2023, he wasโฃ jailed after Firoz lodged a caseโข against him in Patna,” officials saeid.
the โarrest occurred at Kumar’s flat in Civitech Stadia, Sector 79, whereโ he lives with his children and parents. His father is a โขretired government official, and Kumar is โขreportedly estranged from his wife. Originally from Patna’s Patliputra Colony, Kumar hasโค resided inโฃ Noida for โthe pastโฃ five years.Authorities recoveredโฃ seven โmobile phones, three SIM cards, six memory card holders, one external SIM slot, two digital cards, andโ four SIM cardholders from Kumar’s possession. Heโ has been handed over to mumbai Police for further investigation. the incident occurred whileโ mumbai police were already bolstering security measures for the Ganesh Chaturdashi festival.
