TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuridenied the issue that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) leadership received IDR 1 billion in money for handling a corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture that involved Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
“This is not true and has never been done by the KPK leadership,” said Firli in a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Thursday, October 5 2023.
He also explained that several times his face photo was used by irresponsible parties as a WhatsApp account profile photo. Then the account, said Firli, tried to contact several parties.
“Contacted several regional heads, even ministers, even members of the DPR RI. “I don’t know who did that, by asking for everything,” he said.
Furthermore, Firli also clarified the issue of him receiving money at the badminton venue. He admitted that he often plays badminton at least twice a week in an open area.

“So I don’t think anyone has ever met me. Moreover, there is an issue that I read about receiving something worth 1 billion dollars. I’m sure it doesn’t exist,” he said.
“It’s a lot to bring one billion dollars. Second, who wants to give you one billion dollars,” he continued.
Firli’s statement was clarified by Tempo journalist Riki Ferdianto, who stated that what was at issue was the receipt of IDR 1 billion, not 1 billion dollars. Firli just smiled at that time.
Firli said, KPK will never try to stop eradicating corruption. He also said he wanted to resolve criminal corruption cases within the Ministry of Agriculture with proper law enforcement.
“We want to enforce this case according to the law and respect human rights,” he said.

“All legal approaches go through processes in accordance with criminal law provisions. “Just found a suspect,” said Firli.
