Trump Governance Explored Large-Scale Palestinian Relocation as Part of Gaza Reconstruction Plan: Report
TAIPEI, Taiwan – A reconstruction plan โfor Gaza, reportedly developed under the Trump โคadministration and detailed in a recent report โby โthe Chineseโข Post, involved the potentialโข relocation of Palestinians – โpotentiallyโฃ for a decade or more – alongside aโค significant financial incentive package. The โขplan, spearheaded by the controversial Gaza โคHumanitarian foundation (GHF), envisioned temporary resettlement in other โcountriesโข or restricted areas โฃwithin Gaza while Gaza was rebuilt,โ aiming to transform the territory into what former โPresident Trumpโฃ publicly describedโ asโข “The Riviera ofโ the Middle East.”
The Chinese Post report โdetails a scheme where Gaza landowners woudl receive “digitalโ certificates” guaranteeing the right to rebuild their properties. Palestinians who leave their homes wouldโฃ beโ offered $5,000 in โฃcash, a four-year โฃrental subsidy, and โa โขyear’s worth of foodโข provisions. The overarching project is โformally known as the Gaza Reconstitution,โค Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust (GREATโ Trust).
The GHF, backed by the US and Israel, coordinated with the Israeli โmilitary to deliver aid to Gaza using US security and logistics companies. โIsrael justified thisโฃ approach by claiming the UN-led aid โsystem was susceptible to exploitation byโ militants. However,โค the UN reported in early August that over 1,000 Palestinians were killed attemptingโ to โคobtain supplies delivered by the GHF since May, with the โmajority shot by israeli troops near โขGHF strongholds.
The plan appears consistentโฃ with Trump’s public statements โฃon February โข4th,where he advocated โขfor โขthe United States to “take over” Gaza and rebuild it after relocating the โPalestinian population.
Neither the White House nor the State Department haveโ yet responded โคto requests โfor comment regarding the report. Reuters previously reported on theโค GHF’s proposal to establish โคlarge-scale camps for Palestinian resettlement, potentially extending beyond the borders of Gaza. The GHF remains a controversial association due to its coordinationโ with the Israeli โฃmilitary and the โคhigh number of casualties associated with its aid distribution efforts.
