Things got really hot when Skellefteå suddenly lost a 5-1 lead against Malmö at home.
Among other things, Malmö forward Lauri Pajuniemi was pissed off at Petter Granberg after a tackle on the edge. Then Skellefteåbacken got away with a two-minute expulsion. But then he was reported to the disciplinary committee for “checking from behind”.
At the end of the same match, however, teammate Oscar Lindberg was awarded a match penalty. This after he tackled Malmö’s Kim Rosdahl in the head in the center zone. He too was reported to the disciplinary board.
However, it was not only after that match that double notifications were received. This is also the case from the match between Linköping and Luleå, which ended 5–2 to the home team.
For Linköping, it was the young forward Fabian Wagner who was reported after being awarded a two-minute expulsion for “diving/embellishment”, i.e. filming or reinforcement.
Reported after the strange TV pictures
A Luleå player was also reported. This applies to defender Frederic Allard, who played with incorrect equipment. Or rather: he was reported for not using his mouth guard correctly. On TV, among other things, rather strange images were broadcast where he is seen chewing on the mouth guard that hangs outside his mouth.
Now all four are punished.
Skellefteåspelarna is closed. Then Granberg gets a two-game suspension and Lindberg three games, plus a fine of SEK 31,250.
In the decision about Granberg, it can be deduced that a key factor is that the tackle is awarded towards the edge and with a risk of injury. But a mitigating circumstance is described: that the tackle has no “greater force”.
They write the following about Lindberg’s tackle:
“Oscar Lindberg delivers a powerful tackle to the opposing player and that the main force hits the opposing player’s head. The disciplinary committee finds that the tackle is punishment as an Illegal check to the head.”
At the same time, Fabian Wagner (Linköping) and Frederic Allard (Luleå) are each fined SEK 5,000.
