Major Fire โคat Recycling Facility โขContained in Edenkoben
EDENKOBEN – A significant fire brokeโ out at a recycling company in the “Inโข den Seewiesen” industrial area of Edenkoben โขlate Fridayโ night. Approximately 800 cubic meters of waste material ignited in anโฃ open โขhall around 3:00 AM, โwith flames extending to an adjacent lightweight plastic โขstructure.
Sixty firefighters responded to the scene and successfully brought the blaze under control.โ Crewsโ utilized an excavator โto separateโฃ the burning garbage โand employed foamโ to fully extinguish the fire. No injuries โwere โคreported.
Initially,residents were advised to โคclose windows and doors due to heavy smoke,a warning โคissued via the Katwarn system. Fire department spokesperson Ingo Satter confirmed the warningโ has as been liftedโ following โฃair quality measurements conducted by the Ludwigshafen professional fire โฃdepartment. Theseโ measurements indicated the remaining smoke posed no health hazard.
The cause of the fire is currently under inquiry by police.
