MOSCOW – The performance characteristics of the T-72B3 tank increase the tank’s ability to destroy the United States (US) Abrams tank in Ukraine on the battlefield.

The assessment was revealed by Russian military expert Alexander Bartosh to Sputnik.

A US-supplied M1Abrams tank was recently destroyed in Ukraine by a single shot from a Russian T-72B3 tank.

It is the third M1Abrams tank to have been destroyed in a special military operations zone in recent weeks.

“Several key factors, including the skill and intelligence of the Russian tank crew, were the determining factors for the T-72B3’s victory in the first duel against the Abrams,” said Russian expert Alexander Bartosh at the Center for Military Diplomatic Analysis and Assessment of the League of Military Diplomats in an interview with Sputnik.

Another aspect was Russian military technical specialists, who very accurately identified the Abrams’ vulnerabilities and calculated how and where the T-72B3 should fire, according to Bartosh.

He explained, “It is important to attack the area of the Abrams between the turret and the hull of the tank, so that the tank can suffer severe and irreparable damage, after which the tank cannot run on the battlefield or carry out combat missions.”

“Lastly, the performance characteristics of the T-72B3, equipped with excellent weapons and special equipment, make it possible to destroy the Abrams with the first shot,” said the Russian expert.

“The ability of the T-72B3 to eliminate the miraculous Abrams with one shot shows the professionalism of the Russian military and the inability of America and Western countries to harm Russia,” stressed Bartosh.

Russian Army Achieves Victories in Donetsk, Pushes Further into Ukraine – Latest Updates from Moscow

MOSCOW – Russia stated his troops had taken more advantageous positions near Avdiivka and Donetsk. It comes after President Vladimir Putin ordered the military to push further into Ukraine after two years of full-scale war.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had pushed back Ukrainian troops near Klishchiivka, Dleyevka and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region and taken up better positions near Avdiivka which fell to Russians earlier this month.

“In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Group of Forces improved the situation along the front line and defeated formations of the 22nd, 28th and 92nd mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the residential areas of Klishchiivka, Dleyevka and Kurdiumivka,” the Defense Ministry said Russia.

“In the Avdiivka direction, units of the Center group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and also defeated the manpower and equipment of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 107th Air Defense Brigade.”

The ministry said Russian forces had successfully repelled seven Ukrainian counterattacks in the region. A total of 77 Ukrainian drones were destroyed, the ministry said.

Reuters could not immediately verify battlefield reports from either side of the war.

Putin said on Tuesday that Russian troops would push further into Ukraine to build on their battlefield successes after the fall of the town of Avdiivka where he said Ukrainian troops were forced to flee in the chaos.

Putin sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in February 2022, triggering a full-scale war after eight years of conflict in eastern Ukraine between Ukrainian troops on one side and pro-Russian Ukrainians and Russian proxies on the other.

Along the 1,000-km (600-mile) front line, Russian forces hide behind deep minefields and are patrolled by drones and guarded by heavy artillery.

Russia currently controls less than a fifth of the territory internationally recognized as Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he would not rest until every Russian soldier was expelled.

Russia says the territory its forces control is part of Russia and will never be handed over. Western countries have provided 250 billion euros ($271 billion) in aid to Ukraine in an effort to defeat Russian forces.

KYIV – Denmark becomes the latest NATO member to sign a 10-year security cooperation agreement with Ukraine on the eve of the second anniversary of the massive Russian invasion.

Italy and the Netherlands said they planned to sign soon.

The rich Group of Seven countries signed a joint declaration at a NATO summit in Vilnius in July last year committing to establishing “long-term security commitments and arrangements” with Ukraine that would be negotiated bilaterally.

The deal promises the provision of continued military and security assistance, support for developing Ukraine’s defense industrial base, training of the Ukrainian army, intelligence sharing and cooperation, and support for cyber defense.

The two sides will also immediately hold consultations with Kyiv to determine “appropriate next steps” in the event of a “future Russian armed attack.”

More than 30 countries have signed the declaration.

NATO Soldiers as Mercenaries in Ukraine – Russian General Staff Claims

MOSCOW – NATO soldiers fight against the military Russia in the Ukrainian conflict by disguising himself as a mercenary. This was claimed by the deputy chief of the Russian General Staff, Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy, a few days after Moscow dealt a major blow to Kiev by capturing the main city of Donbass, the city of Avdeevka.

“Ukraine’s shelling of Russian civilians – most of which was carried out from Avdeevka in previous years – occurred on the orders of Kiev and with the tacit approval of Western countries,” said the deputy chief of the Russian General Staff, Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy , to the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

The US and its allies provide Ukraine with a comprehensive arsenal and provide communications services and intelligence information. “But some of the equipment requires qualified Western personnel in the field,” said Rudskoy.

He revealed that NATO soldiers disguised as mercenaries participated in military operations. “They control air defense systems, operational-tactical missiles and several rocket launch systems, and enter into assault detachments,” Rudskoy said.

NATO officers directly prepare military operations for the Ukrainian armed forces.

In mid-January, the Russian Defense Ministry announced it had killed more than 60 foreign fighters in precision strikes, the majority of whom were French speakers.

Although France later denied that any of its armed forces were in Ukraine, the French defense minister admitted that some French citizens went to war as “volunteers” – and claimed that as a “democracy”, Paris could not stop them from doing so.

According to Russian Defense Ministry estimates, more than 5,900 foreign mercenaries have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the conflict in February 2022. The Ukrainian Army suffered nearly 160,000 casualties during disastrous counteroffensive last year alone, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

“Kiev suffered heavy losses, failing to penetrate Russia’s tactical defense zone, while the Russian Army studied and tested new ways of warfare,” Rudskoy said. He added that after the capture of Avdeevka, Russian troops improved their positions along the line of contact.

4 Main Military Systems Russia Uses to Weaken Ukraine’s Defenses

MOSCOW – Since the massive invasion Russia to Ukraine in February 2022, the Kremlin has had to adjust its battle strategy as its forces have struggled to break fierce Ukrainian resistance and suffered heavy losses.

Since then, Russia has turned to both modern and vintage Soviet military equipment to try to turn the tide.

Here are the 4 main military systems Russia uses to do this, from the Ka-52 attack helicopter to the Lancet drone.

1. Helicopter Serang Ka-52 “Alligator”

Photo/Reuters

The Ka-52 is one of the best and most maneuverable attack helicopters in the world.

Airforce Technology reports that the helicopter is capable of reaching speeds of up to 300 km per hour and is armed with a 30 mm cannon.

The aircraft can also be equipped with VIKHR anti-tank missiles, ATAKA missiles, B8V-20 rocket launchers and IGLA-V anti-aircraft missiles.

The aircraft’s coaxial main rotor adds to its maneuverability and allows it to hover at higher altitudes than single main rotor helicopters.

“In contrast to single main rotor designs that distribute power to the main and tail rotors, all power for the coaxial rotor is used for vertical thrust. Thus, no power is wasted for anti-torque or directional control,” according to the NASA Technical Report. “The saved power helps coaxial rotors reach higher altitudes than single-rotor helicopters.”

The Ka-52 has been a thorn in Ukraine’s side during its counteroffensive, and the British Ministry of Defense called it “one of the most important weapons systems” in its operations around Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southern Ukraine.

They are thought to have destroyed infantry fighting vehicles such as the US-made Bradley fighting vehicle and tanks such as the German Leopard 2.

But Russia’s Ka-52 fleet has been greatly reduced during the war, as Ukrainian air defense systems, including American stinger systems, have proven highly effective in combating the aircraft, Forbes reported.
