Santiago, Chile – Families enrolled in Chile’s Subsystem Segurities and Opportunities are now eligible for the “House Owner Bonus,” a monthly financial aid program designed to provide crucial support. This subsidy, delivered by the Chilean state for a duration of 24 months, offers varying amounts based on a family’s commitment to the program, with 2025 figures ranging from $12,398 to $23,694 CLP per month.
Eligibility Criteria for the Protection Bonus
To qualify for this vital financial assistance, individuals must meet specific prerequisites:
- Membership within the Chile Subsystem Segurities and Opportunities.
- Formal acceptance into a subsystem program (such as families, opening roads, street, or links) through the signing of a commitment letter and an agreed-upon intervention plan.
upon triumphant completion of these steps, the bonus is automatically activated. Recipients can expect the first payments to coincide with the commencement of psychosocial accompaniment sessions (APS), eliminating the need for a separate submission process.
Priority for Bonus Allocation Within Families
The protection bonus is designated to a specific family member, adhering to a clear order of priority to ensure support reaches those most in need:
- Mothers of children under 18, individuals with certified disabilities (including mental disabilities), or those who qualify for the family subsidy (SUF).
- Women over 18 who are the Head of household or the partner of the Head of Household.
- Women over 18 who function as the primary caregiver or “house owner.”
- men over 18 who are the Head of Household, provided no women meet the preceding criteria.
- Any woman over 18 if the above priority groups are not met. If no eligible woman is identified, the bonus will be assigned to a man of legal age.
- A caregiver for a child under 18, if no other family member fulfills the prior conditions.
Payments for the protection bonus are disbursed directly to the designated receiver’s bank account. Should the recipient lack a bank account, the Ministry of Social Growth and Family will facilitate the opening of one at no cost.
