Izabela P. found, but that’s not the end. “They won’t avoid the consequences” – Wprost

Prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, told Polsat News that the woman “starved and exhausted knocked on her friends’ doors today in the morning.” They notified the police, and Izabela was also taken under the care of paramedics.

The main interested party – as pointed out by prosecutor Węglarowicz-Makowska – submitted a statement that she does not want the media to report on her whereabouts. She also does not want contact with her family.

The spokeswoman added that the woman will be questioned as soon as possible – as a witness. Depending on what she testifies, the proceedings in her disappearance case will be discontinued or will be continued by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.

Dariusz Loranty is not surprised that the woman made a statement. – After Ms. Izabela was found, the classification of the act was changed from abduction to disappearance. In such situations, the person found must make a statement whether they want their family to be notified of this fact. This is the procedure – he says. In the opinion of the former police officer, more people have probably helped Izabela P. recently. – I assume that they did not want to participate in it any longer, so as not to expose themselves to trouble – the former police officer argues.

Corruption Scandal Unveiled: Smuggling Suspect Instructed Arrested Customs Head on Appointments

The SRS recorded how Stefan Dimitrov, who was arrested for smuggling, instructed the arrested head of customs, Petya Bankova, who to appoint.

This became clear from the court minutes read by Toshko Yordanov during the first meeting of the temporary commission to investigate corruption practices in the Customs Agency. The document is from a meeting of the Sofia City Court held on April 6, “Trud” reports.

The head of the commission, Toshko Yordanov from ITN, explained that according to the evidence from the protocol, the head of customs, Petya Bankova, who was arrested on charges of smuggling, discussed with the smugglers the appointments in the department entrusted to her.

Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi were monitored by special intelligence means, it is written in the evidentiary material. According to the protocol, Stefan Dimitrov maintained close ties with Bankova. The two met many times in restaurants and hotels in the country. Bankova appointed people related to Dimitrovi in the agency, the protocol says.

“According to the protocol, there were several meetings between Bankova, Zhivko Kotsev and Stefan Dimitrov, and once Bankova was personally met by Stefan Dimitrov in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building. It is clear from the SRS recording that in a telephone conversation Stefan Dimitrov instructed Petya Bankova which person should be assigned to which position.

“The man fits in the customs without a problem,” comments Toshko Yordanov.

“This is not a report, but a transcript of a protocol,” countered Venetsia Netsova-Angova from the PP-DB. She said that Yordanov could have spared his personal opinions in his presentation and called on the prosecution to provide real evidence. Angova asked how much time Yordan Tsonev, who is also a member of the commission, prepared it for today’s meeting. In turn, the deputy chairman of the DPS commented that he had not seen such a scandal in his 30-year career and that it was right for people to get answers.

Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov will also be heard in the committee.

Toshko Yordanov said that the committee will most likely meet twice a week, because the parliament will be sitting for another month, and there are many people to be heard.

Peruvian prosecutor rejects Boluarte’s request to advance statement

Madrid. The Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office rejected this Tuesday the request presented over the weekend by the country’s president, Dina Boluarte, to advance her statement on the possible crime of illicit enrichment for the acquisition of luxury watches, an alleged plot called the ‘Rolex case’. ‘.

On Sunday, President Boluarte presented a formal request to the Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office to “immediately” make the statement regarding said investigation after members of the Police and the Public Ministry searched her home address, as well as the Presidential Palace.

In her letter, the president alluded to “the political turbulence” triggered by the proceedings opened in the ‘Rolex case’, and advocated for “clarifying the facts under investigation as soon as possible.”

However, the Public Ministry rejected this request and confirmed that President Boluarte’s statement remains on its scheduled date, next April 5 early in the morning in Peru, according to radio station RPP.

Boluarte is being investigated for a crime of alleged illicit enrichment to the detriment of the State for the possession of several luxury watches that she has worn in her interventions, as revealed by the Peruvian digital journalistic program La Encerrona.

At first, Boluarte avoided appearing before the Prosecutor’s Office and stated in public that one of the watches mentioned was “from yesteryear”, the product of his “effort.” However, between Friday and Saturday, police and prosecutors searched the Government Palace and Boluarte’s personal residence as part of this investigation.

The Central Prosecutor’s Office responded to the criticism of Gergely Gulyás in a press release

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com April 4, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

After two months, there was government information again on Thursday, where the Völner-Schadl case was also discussed. In response to this, Gergely Gulyás, the minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office, said that, in his opinion, it was a bad practice on the part of the prosecutor’s office to include in the investigative material the telephone conversation between the president of the OBH and György Schadl, which was made public by Telex. According to him, only things that support the accusation should be included in the investigation material. According to him, the prosecutors made serious mistakes in the Schadl-Völner case.

The Central Investigative Prosecutor General’s Office responded to this in a statement, in which they wrote that “yesterday, the Minister of Government Information, Gergely Gulyás Gulyás, stated – professionally correctly – that if wiretapping takes place in a criminal case, only wiretapping material that supports the charge”. Gulyás called it a violation of personal rights that, although the conversation between György Senyei and György Schadl was not the subject of the accusation, its content nevertheless became widely known.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the case mentioned on government information is suitable for demonstrating how data is handled legally, when and how data can be deleted, in accordance with the interests of the investigation and respecting the rights of the individual.

“During the proposed arrest in the case, the investigative documents including the mentioned conversation were presented to the investigating judge, with the aim of being able to decide on the existence of well-founded suspicion and the conditions for the arrest. Copies of these documents were made available to both the suspect and the defense counsel in accordance with the law, in addition to the court. The person who disclosed the data thus obtained to the public committed a privacy violation,” they wrote.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the wiretapping materials obtained – including the specific conversation between Senyei and Schadl or György Schadl’s intervention in the case of an exam, possibly the mention of Tóni, Barbara and Ádám – do not provide a basis for a crime, do not constitute evidence, and therefore are not included in the indictment in the handed over investigation materials – they write.

“The prosecutor’s office acted legally – in compliance with the rules of criminal procedure and data protection – when handling the wiretapping materials,” concludes the Central Investigative Prosecutor General’s Office.

The later version of his investigative material compiled for the Völner-Schadl case was sent to several editorial offices, including Telex. The 11,000-page document was dated September 9, 2022, i.e. it presents a much later state of the investigation in detail. However, many of the details found in it were ultimately not included in the investigative material sent at the indictment, as they did not provide a basis for a crime, following the above justification. At the same time, Pál Völner’s defender referred to just such a detail reported by Telex the other day he asked the court to attach all conversations to the evidence, because among them there may be some that are indeed relevant from the point of view of the outcome of the case. According to him, this is also the case with Lupkovics: based on the transcript, György Schadl interceded or tried to intercede so that his dear friend, Beáta Lupkovics, who was still working as a county clerk at the time, would do well in her exam, which she was very afraid of.

Disagreeing with the acquittal of the chief architect of Alytus, the prosecutor’s office filed a cassation complaint

The Alytus District Prosecutor’s Office submitted a cassation complaint to the Supreme Court of Lithuania regarding the decision of the Kaunas District to acquit Mindaugas Matažinskas, the chief architect of Alytus, who was accused of abuse of office and falsification of documents.

As the prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday, when examining the circumstances of possible falsification, use and abuse of documents by the acquitted M. Matažinskas, the court did not follow the principle of a detailed investigation of the circumstances of the case and made contradictory conclusions, violating the requirements of the Criminal Code.

“When assessing the qualification of M. Matažinska’s actions, the court applied the criminal law incorrectly. In addition, after the acquittal verdict was passed, the prosecutor’s appeal was rejected without a statement on it, therefore the verdict of the appellate court should be annulled and the case should be re-examined by appeal,” the prosecutor’s cassation complaint added.

As it was already announced, in the months of January-August 2020, M. Matažinskas, as a civil servant, possibly falsified prepared documents of a closed joint-stock company and possibly illegally issued certificates about the possibility of using newly formed real estate cadastre objects (buildings) according to their intended purpose.

The Druskininkai Chamber of the Alytus District Court, which examined the case, in 2023 on February 3, M. Matažinskas was found guilty of abuse of office and was fined 10,000. euro fine.

However, in 2023, the panel of the Criminal Cases Division of the Kaunas District Court on December 11, the architect was acquitted of the acts he was accused of.
