Akure, Ondo State – operatives โof the Ondo State Security Network, โขAmotekun, have arrested 51 suspected criminals across the state, including a โpreviously convicted offender who escaped from the Okitipupa Correctional Facility. The arrests,โค conducted in various locationsโ throughout Ondo’s 18 local government areas, signal an ongoing crackdown on criminal activity within the region.
The operation, led by Amotekun โคRangers, dismantled a major kidnapping syndicate operatingโฃ within Ondo State’s forests. This latestโฃ action buildsโค onโ recent successes, with the Corps reportingโ a decline in major crimes due toโ intensifiedโฃ security efforts. The arrests encompass charges ranging from breaking the law โคand disturbing public order โto major kidnapping and rape, underscoring โthe breadth of Amotekun’s focus on securing communities.
State Commander Adetunji Adetunji, who paraded the โคsuspects in Akure, detailed the scope of the operation.”51 suspects โขhave been arrested in various nooks and crannies and forests of theโ state,โ 37 breaking law and order, 6 โขmajor kidnapping โฃsuspects and one case of abuse, which is rape,” adetunjiโ stated. “Consequently of the activitiesโ of the Amotekun rangers in the forest, we โขwere able โขto dismantle a terrible kidnap syndicate.”
