Yesterday, WBO champion and former undisputed light welterweight champion Josh Taylor and former world lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez held their final press conference ahead of their fight in New York on June 10, and there was so much verbal sparring that the guards thought necessary to keep them away from each other during the traditional duel of views.

Everyone is afraid of death, I don’t know why, we are all going to die. But in the end, if I die, I will die for something important, for something that will last forever.

WBA regular lightweight champion Gervonta Davis scored a seventh-round knockout victory over fellow American boxer Ryan Garcia in a highly anticipated bout on April 22 in Las Vegas.

Garcia actively started the fight and in the second round he carried out several quick attacks, but in one of them he got hit by a counter-punch and was knocked down. After that, the pattern of the fight changed, and already Davis began to act more actively and attack more often. In the seventh round, Garcia missed a blow to the body and after a couple of seconds he knelt down and did not continue the fight.

After the victory, 28-year-old Davis agreed with the host that he had become the new face of boxing, and 24-year-old Garcia did not look for excuses for his defeat.

The fight took place at a catchweight of up to 61.69 kg (136 lbs), and at the additional weigh-in on the day of the fight with a limit of 66.22 kg (146 lbs), Garcia showed 65.73 kg on the scales, and Davis – 65.36 kg.

Today in Kansas (Missouri, USA) a mixed martial arts tournament UFC on ESPN 44 was held, where the main event of the show was the fight of the organization’s former featherweight champion Max Holloway against the British Arnold Allen.
