Kudus,Central Java – The Central Java judo team secured the gold medal in Jun No Kata at the PON Bela Diri 2025 competition,held October 11-26 in Kudus. The team’s performance,scoring 370.5 points, marked a notable victory in the customary kata discipline.
This win is anticipated to bolster West Nusa Tenggara’s (NTB) preparations for the 2028 PON games and provide valuable national-level experience for the athletes involved. According to a team representative, a core focus throughout their training was ”balance and clarity of technique. We strive to make every move clearly visible so that the referee can judge the details of each technique we demonstrate.”
Bali followed in second place with 348.5 points, while West Java claimed the third position with a score of 334.5.The PON Bela Diri 2025 event features ten sports, including karate, level fighting, jujitsu, martial arts, tai chi, wrestling, judo, sambo, wushu, and kempo charingi.
