Gaza โAid Resumes Through Kerem Shalom asโฃ Ceasefire holds, Body Handed โOver
Followingโ aโข brief suspension, aid deliveriesโค to the Gaza Strip have resumed throughโฃ the Kerem Shalom border crossing as of Monday, operating “in full accordance with the signed agreement” between Israel and Hamas. The Rafah โcrossing remains closed. This reopening comes after โIsrael halted aid deliveries the previous day, citing allegedโ breaches of the ceasefire agreement reachedโข on october 10th. Both โขIsrael andโข Hamas had previously accused each โother of violating the terms.
The resumptionโ of aid is critical given the fragile ceasefire and the urgent humanitarian needs ofโค the Palestinian population. The German Federal Government has urged both Hamas and the Israeli government to uphold their commitments toโ the Gaza peace plan, expressingโค concern โขover theโ recent disruption.A government spokesperson โstatedโ the expectation that allโ parties “fully and promptly honour the commitments they have โmade,” acknowledging the long-term natureโฃ of the disarmament process and the challenges โฃinvolved.
Alongside the aid resumption,โ Israel received another bodyโข from Hamas, as part of the ongoingโฃ agreement.
France โis advocatingโข for a notable expansion of the โฃEU borderโ protection operation in the Gaza โขStrip, proposing a strengthening of the mission to facilitate not only passenger travel but alsoโ increased freight transport. The goal is to โensure humanitarian โaid reaches Gaza safely and on a โคlarge scaleโฃ to alleviate suffering.
