Gyeonggi-do, South Korea – A delegationโ from the Gyeonggi-do Council’s Future โScience Cooperation Committee recently returned โคfrom a week-long fact-finding mission to Singapore โand Hangzhou, china, seeking inspiration and potential partnerships to drive innovation within the province.The trip, conducted September 21-27,โค focused on advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, โand smart city solutions.
the committee, comprised โฃof nine council members, prioritized visiting leadingโ organizations at the forefront ofโ these fields. This “visiting the first association” approach ensured aโข focused and productive itinerary, yielding valuableโฃ insights for improving the quality of life for Gyeonggi-do residents and bolsteringโค the province’s future industrial competitiveness.
Singapore showcases autonomous driving & Public Safety tech
In Singapore, the delegation met with Autonomous A2Z, the first Korean company to secure a Singaporean autonomous driving license (M1) from the Land Transport Authority (LTA).With a research centre โขalready located in Gyeonggi-do, A2Z’s success opens doors for potential collaborationโฃ with the province’s โฃexistingโ autonomous driving presentation project, G-Fair.
Further โexploration led the committee to the Hyundai Motor โGroup Singapore Global Innovation Center (HMGICS), a cutting-edge โขfacilityโ co-developed with the Singaporean government. โHMGICS is pioneering aโค smart manufacturing system integrating AI, autonomous driving,โ and robotics, and notably features a unique experiential production line allowing customers to participate in vehicle โassembly.
