Gardaรญ are continuing โtheir search for aโ young boy in north county Dublin who is feared dead, according to Commissionerโ Drew Harris. The search is focused on a large area of open land between Donabate andโ Portrane, with assistance โfrom search dogs.
The caseโ began after a โขwoman made claims to Gardaรญ that have not been proven, but are being taken seriously. Tusla, the Child and Family โAgency, confirmedโค it made a referralโ to An Garda Sรญochรกna “in relation toโค our โขconcerns โabout the safety โand โคwellbeingโฃ of this child,” and is sharing all relevant facts with the Gardaรญ. The boy had apparently vanished โฃwithout being reportedโค missing. The Children’sโ Rights Alliance has raised concerns that the โฃCovid-19 pandemic may โhave contributed to the child notโ being identified as at risk sooner. Chief Executive Tanya ward questioned on RTร radio’s โ Morning Ireland if the child “slipped through the net as public services did not have the level of contact โคthat they normally would inโฃ the ordinary course of events.” She added that the case is โ”very disturbing” and requires โan autonomousโค reviewโข to determine what happened.
