DPS Bokaro Hosts Thrilling CBSE Cluster-3 Table Tennis Competition

Bokaro, Jharkhand – A highly competitive three-day CBSE Cluster-3 Table Tennis Championship commenced on Sunday at Delhi public School (DPS) Bokaro.The event, drawing participants from across the region, promises intense matches and showcases the talent of young table tennis players.

The opening day featured over 50 matches spanning various age categories. In the Under-17 Girls’ category,Jusko School Kadama,Jamshedpur,secured the gold medal with a decisive 3-0 victory over Vivek Vidyalaya,Chhota Govindpur,Jamshedpur. DPS Bokaro claimed the silver medal, also winning 3-0 against Gurunanak High School, Ranchi. Vivek Vidyalaya, Chhota Govindpur, earned a well-deserved bronze medal.

Competition is heating up in the Under-19 Boys’ category, with semi-final matchups scheduled for Monday. Sant Michael high School,Patna,will face Loyola High School,Patna,while DAV Public School Khagaul will compete against BNS DAV Public School,Giridih. The Under-14 Boys’ semi-finals will also take place, featuring Litera Valley School, Naya Tola, Patna, against Surendranath Centenary School, Ranchi, and Naman Vidya, Hazaribagh, versus Sant Michael High School, Patna.

The tournament’s inauguration ceremony was a vibrant affair,featuring cultural presentations,a march-past,and the athletes’ oath. District Sports Officer (DSO) Hemlata Bun served as the Chief Guest, alongside CBSE Deputed Supervisor Aseem Priyadarshi. Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and Chairman of the Competition Committee, International Referee Sandeep Saha, Vice President of the Organizing Committee and Vice Principal Anjani Bhushan, and Deputy Principal Shalini Sharma were also present to inaugurate the event.

DPS Bokaro’s state-of-the-art facilities are providing an excellent platform for these young athletes to demonstrate their skills. The competition is expected to draw important attention from the local community and table tennis enthusiasts throughout the region.
