Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei, has expressed his agreement to conclude an agreement with the West regarding the Iranian nuclear program, considering that there is nothing wrong with reaching an agreement, without prejudice to the infrastructure of the nuclear industry, according to what was reported by the news agency. The official Iranian (IRNA).

Khamenei’s remarks came during his meeting with a group of scholars, experts and officials in the Iranian nuclear industry in Imam Khomeini’s Husseiniya. The meeting was preceded by Khamenei’s visit to the Nuclear Industry Achievements Exhibition held in Imam Khomeini’s Husseiniya, according to the agency.

Khamenei said, “For 20 years, (enemies) have created a nuclear challenge to Iran, because they know that movement in the nuclear industry is the key to the country’s scientific progress.

And the Iranian guide added: “We, from an Islamic standpoint, do not want to go towards (nuclear) weapons, otherwise they would not have been able to stop it, and so far they have not been able to stop our nuclear developments,” according to IRNA.

Khamenei stressed that “cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency should be maintained, within the framework of the safeguards agreement, and that it is not permissible to violate the strategic work law adopted by the Iranian parliament, and that there is no problem with the agreement, but the infrastructure of the nuclear industry should not be affected.”

The official Iranian news agency quoted Khamenei as saying: “It is trustworthy in the promises made in various sectors, whether the governments that were parties to the nuclear negotiations or the International Atomic Energy Agency itself, which were not fulfilled, which led to a lack of confidence in these parties, and the realization that there is no Her promises and her words can be trusted.”
