Armed Robbery Under Examination at New London Convenience Store
New London, CT – The New London Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that took place late Thursday night at a convenience store located at 485 Ocean Avenue.
Police responded to a robbery call at approximately 11:52 p.m. on September 18th. Initial reports indicate a suspect entered the store and brandished a handgun, subsequently fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described by witnesses as a Black male with a medium build. He was reportedly wearing dark-colored clothing and white sneakers at the time of the incident. A police-released image depicting the suspect’s description is included with this report.
Following the robbery, officers secured the area and initiated a search for the suspect. As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made.
Detectives are actively processing evidence collected from the scene and conducting interviews with witnesses to further the investigation. The case remains open and ongoing.
