Espírito Santo Surpasses 22,000 Doses Administered During Multivaccination “D-Day”
Cariacica, espírito Santo - A statewide “D-Day” initiative propelled the Multivaccination Campaign in Espírito Santo past 22,000 doses administered on October 21st, according to state officials. The push aims to bolster immunization rates across all age groups, especially among children and adolescents, and address declines linked to misinformation.
Launched October 6th,the campaign focuses on selectively reaching individuals under 15 with incomplete or missing vaccinations from the National Immunization program. Expanded eligibility now includes HPV vaccination for those aged 15-19 and measles vaccination for individuals up to 59,alongside healthcare workers needing updated protection. Governor Renato Casagrande emphasized the critical importance of updated vaccination records, stating, “It is significant to update the vaccination card at any age. We are calling on children, young people and adolescents so that we can have a healthy society.”
The Multivaccination Campaign operates through a network of 600 vaccination stations across espírito Santo’s 78 municipalities. State health authorities report a concerted effort to rebuild public trust and vaccination coverage following a period of decreased uptake attributed to the spread of false information. The campaign continues through October 31st.
