Icheon City hosted its inaugural ‌”2025 Icheon High-Tech Defense drone Festival” in collaboration with Korea Interoperability Technology Consulting (KOREA ITC), featuring approximately 40 booths ‍operated by 35 ⁣domestic and ⁣foreign companies.Among the exhibitors was Econara, a company demonstrating ⁣its contribution⁤ to environmental sustainability through innovative food waste recycling technology.

Econara has been a pioneer in establishing resource circulation systems, focusing on ⁣food waste recycling and eco-pleasant processing. The company notably installed resource-recycling equipment in large private and public buildings – a first for the ⁢country ⁣- and has been instrumental in ‍reducing carbon emissions by ‌converting local food waste into usable resources.

A pilot ⁣program launched in July 2014, installing a⁢ resource-recycling device⁢ in a large apartment complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul, received a positive response from over 90% of residents, leading to a successful and‍ voluntary expansion to all households within the complex. This system has been operating stably since the 1980s.

Recently, Econara’s resource-recycling equipment has been deployed throughout Seoul, including districts like Jungnang-gu and Gangbuk-gu, and major complexes in Nowon-gu, specifically in Sanggye-dong ⁣and Gongneung-dong. Elvis Presley Judge Resigns After Court Cosplay Scandal

Missouri Judge Resigns After Repeatedly Cosplaying as Elvis Presley in Court

A Missouri judge‌ with a well-known passion for Elvis Presley has resigned from his position after facing disciplinary action for‌ repeatedly⁣ dressing‍ as teh‌ rock and roll icon while presiding over court proceedings.Judge Matthew EP Thornhill of‌ the St. Charles County Circuit Court agreed to an 18-month return to the bench followed by resignation, as recommended by the Missouri Judge Dismissal, Dismissal, and Disciplinary Committee.

The⁤ committee found Judge Thornhill ‌violated ethical codes in three key areas. He repeatedly impersonated Presley in the courtroom and office, particularly around Halloween, wearing‍ a wig and sunglasses and ‍playing Presley music during trials. He reportedly ⁢allowed litigants ‌and ‍witnesses to choose to swear ⁤in oaths while listening to ⁤”Elvis music” ⁣and made references to PresleyS birthday and death date. ⁣

Further violations included engaging in inappropriate political conversations with individuals involved in ⁢cases, and questions about campaign banners, and concerns over perhaps improperly influencing a child adoption case by personally delivering a recommendation‌ letter.

In a statement to the Missouri Supreme Court, Judge Thornhill claimed his Presley impersonations were‌ “intended to soften the courtroom atmosphere and put the minds of nervous people at ease,” while acknowledging “appropriate manners and order ‍were not observed.” He ⁤characterized the political conversations as unrelated to trial outcomes and the letter delivery as “a simple mistake and inappropriate.”

Judge⁣ Thornhill, appointed as a deputy circuit‍ court judge in 2006 and elected as a circuit court judge⁣ last year, was publicly known for his devotion to Presley, having visited Graceland 13 times. His middle name, “EP,” was initially speculated to be a tribute to Elvis Presley, but the New York Times reported ‌it stands for “Eugene ⁣Peter.”

Ukraine Conflict: US Peace Plan Details – Crimea, Russia, NATO, Troop Limits

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor November 21, 2025
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Trump Plan for Ukraine Peace Reportedly Includes Territorial Concessions and Military Limits

A 28-point plan reportedly drafted by former US President Donald Trump proposes a resolution to the Ukraine conflict that would involve Kyiv ceding territory to Russia, considerably reducing its military size, and forgoing any future NATO membership. Details of the plan were obtained by Axios and confirmed by ukrainian, US, and sources familiar with the proposal.

According to Axios, the plan would see the United States recognize Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk as Russian territory. A “frozen” conflict line would effectively recognize russian control over parts of kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, while Russia would relinquish control over other territories it currently occupies beyond these five regions.

The proposal calls for Ukrainian forces to withdraw from the portion of the donetsk Oblast they currently hold. This area would then be designated as a neutral, demilitarized buffer zone internationally recognized as belonging to Russia, with a stipulation that Russian forces would not enter it.

A key component of the plan involves a ample reduction in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, limiting its size to 600,000 personnel. Currently, Ukraine’s military numbers between 800,000 and 850,000, a significant increase from the approximately 250,000 soldiers it had prior to the war.

The plan also suggests entrusting the defense of Ukraine to European fighters stationed in poland, while explicitly prohibiting the deployment of NATO troops within Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr zelenskyy has acknowledged receiving the text of the plan, stating he intends to discuss it with Trump. However,Ukrainian sources have reportedly described the proposal as “absurd.”

Data Center Boom Drives up Electricity⁢ Rates in Key U.S.States

Electricity costs ⁣are surging in regions with high concentrations of artificial⁣ intelligence data centers, impacting consumers and sparking debate over the financial burden on local communities. Rates in Virginia,⁣ Illinois, and Ohio have risen considerably‍ in recent months, fueled by the immense ⁢power demands of AI infrastructure.

Virginia, ⁣home to ⁤666 data centers-the ⁤most in the U.S.-experienced a 13% increase in electricity rates as of August compared to the same period last year, according to CNBC‌ reporting on November 16th. Illinois, with⁤ 244 data ⁤centers, ⁤saw a ⁣15.8% jump, while Ohio,‌ hosting 193 data centers, recorded ⁣a 12% increase. These increases are two to three times ⁤the national average annual electricity rate increase of 5.1%.

The escalating costs are directly linked to the ‍energy-intensive nature ⁤of AI model training and operation. ⁣Large-scale data centers, now frequently announced ⁤at the ⁣gigawatt (GW) level-equivalent to the⁢ output of a nuclear power ⁤plant and ⁢enough to power roughly one million homes-are ⁢being built by major tech companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft,‍ and Meta. Meta⁣ is planning a 1GW ‘Prometheus’ data center in Ohio, and OpenAI, alongside Oracle and Softbank, is developing a data center complex under ⁤the ‘Stargate’ plan ⁣in ⁢the same state.‍ Google, Microsoft, ‌and Claude are also expanding their presence in these regions.

The rising rates have triggered a political response. Virginia Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger,‌ elected November 4th, has pledged to ensure “large technology companies ⁤pay their ⁣share” of‍ the increased costs. Johns Hopkins University researcher Abraham Silverman notes a growing local resistance to further data center ‍advancement, characterizing the backlash as a “techlash” and stating, “there is a response…that they no longer want data centers.”

Belém⁤ Accord prioritizes Vulnerable Populations in Global Climate Action

Belém, Brazil – A landmark declaration adopted at the COP30 climate summit in Belém on Friday, November‍ 14, 2025, places the needs of populations most vulnerable to⁢ climate change at the center of global climate⁣ policy. The “Belém Declaration,” as ⁤it’s being called, ⁣emphasizes⁢ a “just transition” – ensuring that climate action doesn’t exacerbate existing inequalities ⁢and actively benefits those ‍bearing the brunt of climate impacts.

The agreement, reported by Inter Press Service and ‍highlighted by Global Issues, signals a potential shift in climate negotiations, moving beyond‍ broad emissions targets to address‌ the social and economic consequences ⁣of climate ‍change for marginalized communities.‌ Advocates say a just transition requires ‍significant financial and⁢ technical support for developing nations and vulnerable groups within those nations, enabling them to adapt to ⁤climate impacts and build sustainable livelihoods. The declaration⁢ specifically calls for increased funding for‍ loss and damage ⁣mechanisms, recognizing the irreversible impacts already being felt by many.

The focus on a just transition comes as COP30 also addresses issues ranging from sustainable livestock development‌ in Africa to the impact of AI on climate solutions, and⁣ ongoing conflicts impacting vulnerable populations in regions like Gaza and the West Bank. Indigenous groups⁤ are also making their ⁣voices heard, with protests at the COP30 entrance demanding concrete action‍ from the Brazilian goverment.
