On matchday 26 of French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain beat FC Nantes 4-2.

PSG put a lot of pressure on from the start – and in the 12th minute it was 1-0. Lionel Messi starts a sprint to the goal, with a bit of luck Mendes’ pass will land in front of the world champion’s feet – Messi only has to push in from a few meters.

Just five minutes later, Paris follows suit. After a shot by Danilo, keeper Lafont can only bounce forward, Mukiele puts the ball on goal again. When trying to prevent the goal, Hadjam deflected the ball and made it 2-0 (17′).

The game seems to be over, PSG can go back a gear – supposedly. Because in the 31st minute Nantes comes up to 2:1. From three meters Blas is there, he surprises PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma from an acute angle, who does not look good when conceding a goal. Nantes followed up before the break, Ganago was able to push a corner kick over the line at the second post (38′).

Mbappe with decision

Even after the break, PSG determines the game, but initially finds few chances. After an hour, however, the hosts took the lead again: Mbappe crossed the ball into the sixteen, Danilo Pereira heads into the net to make it 3-2.

Just three minutes later, Hadjam grabs Mukiele, and Mukiele hurts himself in the process. However: The foul was just before the sixteen, so the VAR takes back the previously awarded penalty. Messi kicks the free kick hard, but Lafont can parry.

It was only shortly before the end that Kylian Mbappe put the lid on with his 201st goal for PSG. He overtakes Edinson Cavani, who was the club’s all-time leading goalscorer (200 goals).

Messi and Mbappé shoot PSG to victory in the top duel

Paris Saint-Germain beat Olympique Marseille 3-0 in the top game of matchday 25 in Ligue 1, consolidating their position at the top of the table.

Once again, the two superstars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé provide the special moments.

With the first successful offensive action of the two noble kickers, PSG takes the lead. The Argentine drives the ball into the opposing half, Mbappé starts almost halfway to sprint behind the last defensive line. Messi’s pass goes perfectly and the Frenchman cleanly executes from the right with a low shot into the far corner (25′).

In the 29th minute, the two actors swap roles. Mbappé looks up briefly at the left corner of the penalty area and finds “La Pulga” with his flat cross on the five, the rest is a matter of form.

Everything goes through Messi and Mbappé

For the third goal of the Red-Blues, Messi is again in the preparatory role when he chips the ball into the path of his congenial partner, who hammers the ball from the left pentagon directly into the far corner (55th).

Olympique Marseille seemed unhinged for almost the entire game without the suspended central defender Mbemba and cannot complain about the extent of the win.

Marseille missed the chance to catch up with the currently weakening Parisians and is still in second place with 52 points – eight points behind leader PSG.

The Portuguese led his neo-club Al-Nassr to a 2-1 home win over Al-Taawon on matchday 17 of the Saudi Pro League with two notable assists.

Also in his fifth competitive game, Ronaldo leads the capital city as captain on the field. The 37-year-old scored his first highlight on Friday evening in the 17th minute. After winning the ball, Al-Nassr quickly switches. Ronaldo plays a perfectly timed ball from his own half into the interface on Ghareeb, who converts the ball safely into goal.

Al-Nassr back to the top

Shortly after half-time, Al-Taawon leveled the game with a goal from Medran (47′).

With just under a quarter of an hour to go, the home side go ahead again. After a corner, ex-Bayern player Luiz Gustavo pulls from around 15 meters. Ronaldo stands in front of the goal and puts the ball, which could possibly have gone outside the goal, onto the better positioned Madu, who slides into the empty goal from a few meters (78th).

It is Ronaldo’s sixth goal involvement in two games and his first two assists at his new club following last week’s four-goal. Al-Nassr jumps back to the top of the table with the three.

Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Europe

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 30, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Does Cristiano Ronaldo have any other plans after his Al-Nassr adventure?

At least his current head coach, Rudi Garcia, believes the 37-year-old superstar will return to Europe after his stint in Saudi Arabia.

“He’s one of the best players in the world. He won’t retire at Al-Nassr, he’ll go back to Europe,” Garcia said at a press conference.

Ronaldo still claimed in his presentation PK that his “job in Europe was done”. “I’ve won everything, I’ve played for the biggest clubs. Now I have a new mission in Asia,” he said.

Ronaldo still has a contract with Al-Nassr until 2025. After his working paper expires, the Portuguese would be 40 years old.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia made the goalscorer the highest-paid footballer in history. So far, the veteran has only played two games for his new club and has not scored any goals.

World Cup shooting star Ounahi before moving to France

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 28, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Azzedine Ounahi was one of the great high-flyers at the World Cup finals in the desert state of Qatar.

With the Moroccan national team, Ounahi sensationally reached the semifinals and eliminated the co-favorites Spain and Portugal in the course of the tournament. In addition to goalkeeper Bono and storm tank Youssef En-Nesyri, 22-year-old Ounahi has also caught the eye of numerous top clubs.

It was foreseeable that the midfield engine would not last much longer for Angers, bottom of the Ligue 1. Now the dice should have fallen in poker about the future of the shooting star of the “Atlas Lions”.

As reported by “RMC Sport” and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, among others, Ounahi is about to move to Olympique Marseille. The transfer fee should be within a manageable range of 10 million euros including bonuses and a resale participation for Angers.

In recent months, rumors have been circulating about a possible commitment to top clubs such as FC Barcelona or SSC Napoli, a transfer fee of 45 million euros is said to have been in the room.

Ronaldo mocked by fans after defeat in Super Cup

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 28, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

As if the defeat in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup with his club Al-Nassr against Al-Ittihad wasn’t bad enough, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo also had to endure abusive chants from opposing fans.

The Portuguese had definitely imagined the game, which was lost 3-1, differently. Afterwards, “Messi, Messi, Messi” rang out mockingly from the stands.

During the game, battle cries in favor of the Argentine could be heard again and again. The times for “CR7” are not exactly getting any easier, he is still waiting for his first goal for Al-Nassr, and he has not managed an assist in his first two games.
