“Slow Horses” on Apple TV+: espionage in its own swamp | Remarkable fourth season

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 9, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

After three seasons, the concept of Slow Horses (Apple TV+’s recent premiere) is as recognizable as the farts that Jackson Lamb proudly expels (Gary Oldman) in front of any interlocutor. The model is made up of some book from the Mick Herron spy saga, respect for the gears of the genre, the hint of some notes on the current European situation and the joking tone typical of black comedy. The heart, in short, remains the “losers, misfits and drunks”, as Mick Jagger sings in “Strange Game”, the catchy song heard at the opening of the episode dedicated to the agents denigrated to “the swamp”. Every Wednesday there will be a new episode on the streaming platform.

The first of the new story, “Identity Theft,” began with a suicide bombing in central London and the “murder” of one of the members of the stinking London office. Behind the official MI5 investigation, led by Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott-Thomas), appears the action on the side of the road – the ditch would be more appropriate – of the “slow horses.” The intelligence agency appears as a victim and suspect of the bombings that have the city in jeopardy. Once the canon has been established, Will Smith’s creation seems to have reached its maximum degree of perfection in these chapters based on the novel. Spook StreetThe caustic Lamb, in his own way, must be proud. The streaming platform confirmed its continuation for at least one more season.

The tour also includes no fewer than four gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 25, July 26, August 2. and 3.8. In Manchester, the band will perform at Heaton Park on 11.7., 12.7., 19.7. and 20.7.

In Edinburgh, the band has gigs on August 8 and 9. and in Dublin on 16 and 17.7.

At least for now, Oasis is not touring outside the British Isles.

In addition to their music, Oasis is remembered for Noel and Liam’s constant arguments and fights. Oasis last broke up in 2009.

Oasis’s most famous songs are Wonder wall, Don’t Look Back in Anger and Live Forever.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s hit album Definitely Maybe.

The band started hinting at a return in 2023 if their favorite team Manchester City wins the treble. City won the treble, meaning the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Author Panu Rajalan the summer evening ended in a dangerous situation. Rajala tells about what happened in his blog post and in an interview with Ilta-Sanomi.

Rajala writes in her blog that she was watching the Ilmari Kianto musical play in Sotkamo on Sunday. The evening continued with an opera singer Esa Ruuttusen at the cottage.

– Esa met me at Kajaani station, took me to his villa for dinner and straight to the black smoke sauna. An impressive experience. The wind was strong, and when we went briskly for a swim, the strong waves of Lake Nuasjärvi started to take me farther from the shore. I was shaking so much that I couldn’t properly paddle against the waves. Esak was already scared, but with his help I made it back to the platform and it didn’t get any worse, Rajala writes in her blog.

Rajala tells Ilta-Sanom that the strong wind started pulling Rajala on his back during the swimming trip.

– I freaked out in that situation. I’ve always made it to the beach, but suddenly I couldn’t, Rajala tells Ilta-Sanom.

Rajala says that Ruuttunen probably freaked out more in the situation. The singer helped his guest from the water to safety.

– He quickly came to the rescue, crawling strongly. He held my hand and led me to the shore along a route he knew, Rajala describes to Ilta-Sanom.

Panu Rajala, who turns 79 on Tuesday, is known, among other things, for his numerous biographical works and plays.

Portion Boys lead singer Aapo Vuori celebrates his birthday on Wednesday. The singer turned 29 years old.

Another band member Tiina Forsby published a happy video on Instagram in honor of the holiday. He congratulates his bandmate with touching words.

– For me, this world is a much better place to be and live when you are there to share joys and sorrows as my friend, Tiina writes.

– Good luck, dear Aapeli, he congratulates.

In the Instagram video, the two go crazy and have fun together in various summer moments. In a few video clips, they dance, swinging their butts towards the camera.

– In this compilation, a few clips from the past year. I definitely wanted to use this particular soundtrack in the background because you sing on it and every time I hear this song sung by you, it moves me a lot, Tiina writes.

If the video does not appear, you can watch it from this link.

Disease cases

The members of the Portion Boys band have suffered from health concerns this year. Tiina Forsby was injured at her Kokkolan gig at the end of June when she slipped on a dangerously slippery stage. It was later discovered that two of his tendons had been torn from the muscle on his backside. Forsby is currently rehabilitating his leg and shared his situation on Instagram a week ago.

– Last week I already jogged lightly. This week I tried jumping, my trademark move. The effort is already starting to find it little by little, although the limits have not yet been fully tested, the artist wrote.

– I can tell you that this is what I have missed the most this summer. That I could just sprint [suom. juosta] to the meadow and bounce off, just like other ponies without any other agenda, he stated.

Also in the band General Strong i.e. Raimo Paavola was injured in May in the middle of a gig.

The band also had to cancel their gig last Friday night at the Kukonhieka entertainment center in Saarijärvi due to an illness. The doctor had forbidden the band to perform.

Portion Boys won the Entertainer of the Year award for the second time in a row at Iskelmägala 2024. Matti Matikainen
