Copa Libertadores 2024

Last Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, Olivar Alto vibrated with a mix of music, solidarity and joy. The community came together to support the families affected by the forest fires in the Coastal Rainforest of our O’Higgins Region. Both days marked the end of the Olivarina Solidarity Week 2024, artistic and entrepreneurship events held in the three sectors of the commune – Olivar Bajo, Gultro, Olivar Alto –, and which brought together more than 25 thousand people during the month of February.

SATURDAY 24: CAÑA BRAVA AND LUIS LAMBIS MADE EVERYONE OLIVAR DANCE

The live music began at 6:00 p.m., and continued into the evening. The stage, lighting and sound pleasantly surprised attendees. The artistic day began with the Telar de Rancagua Group. Then it was the turn of the Rancherita Giovanna Manríquez, who gave way on stage to her daughter Natu Manríquez, with a very different musical style: soul classics and disco music.

Later it was the time of Los Gemelos, who made the audience sing with their romantic repertoire. And then, it was the turn of the dance: the Puerto Ricans from Caña Brava and the Colombian Luis Lambis captivated the audience with their melodies, rhythm and friendliness.

On the other hand, local breweries joined together to offer a variety of refreshing beers, and entrepreneurs offered their products. In addition, the little ones enjoyed games and activities designed especially for them.

SUNDAY 25: SURAMERICAN ROCKERS, FUGUOS AND AMERICA WERE THE FINISHING

Last Sunday, Olivar Solidarity Week 2024 came to an exciting close at the Olivar Alto Sports Complex. The residents of the commune came together in an event full of music, solidarity and joy. In addition, in parallel, the Beer Festival and the Entrepreneurs Fair continued to be held, with great success for all merchants, and which delighted the attending public.

Those attending that day witnessed an unforgettable show, with musical performances that made all hearts vibrate. The beginning was led by the band Club 68, who with their contagious energy made the audience move to the rhythm of their songs. The attendees sang some verses and immersed themselves in the nostalgia of the classics.

Later, it was the turn of Virso Rock, a soloist who unleashed the passion of rock on stage. Armed only with his guitar on stage, his power chords and covers of famous Anglo bands like Oasis and The Doors resonated throughout the complex, leaving an indelible mark.

Then, and paying tribute to the musical work of Los Prisioneros, Suramerican Rockers performed the hits that marked an era. The audience gave themselves completely, singing at the top of their lungs Tren al Sur and Baile de los que Sobran, among other hits by the band from San Miguel. Later, the magic of Soda Stereo revived with the national band Prófugos. The chords of “De Música Ligera” and “Persiana Americana” made everyone feel part of something bigger.

And at the end of the day, the public eagerly awaited the presentation of Américo, the King of Cumbia. The native of Arica made the crowd dance and sing with his charisma and contagious rhythm. The field was filled with movement and joy.

Admission to the shows was free, but attendees were asked to donate non-perishable food, toiletries, new towels, new bedding, pet food, and bottled water. The community showed its generosity and support.

Olivarina Solidarity Week 2024 was not only an entertainment event, but also an opportunity for Olivar to come together as a community. The Mayor of Olivar, María Estrella Montero, and the members of the Honorable Municipal Council thanked all attendees for their collaboration and solidarity. This successful show will remain in the memory of those who were part of and enjoyed the closing day of the Olivarina Solidarity Week 2024. There was also a thank you to the artists, for making music and solidarity still resonate in Olivar.
