Vietnamese Concerts โขExpand Globally, Targeting New Audiences Abroad
HANOI, Vietnam – Vietnamese performing arts are increasingly โคlookingโข beyond traditional โdiaspora communities in โคNorth America to cultivate new internationalโ markets,โฃ driven by a growing populationโ of Vietnamese descendants born after the year 2000. This shiftโ acknowledgesโฃ aโข broadening audience for Vietnamese art and culture worldwide, moving โbeyond establishedโฃ venues โขlike Thuy Ngaโฃ Paris shows popularโ withโ Vietnamese communities inโฃ the Unitedโ Statesโ and โคCanada.
Previously,โ entertainment largely focused on serving โVietnamese โexpatriates. However, productions like those from Lune Production – including Lang Me and A O show – have already begun to attract local audiences across the globe.
According to Luneโ production director Thuy Le, the key to wider international appeal liesโข in two elements: aesthetics and language. “programs โคmust have โtwo โelements: aesthetics โand language,” Le stated.โค “In this case, language is theโ key for Vietnamese cultural works โto reach the world public, without the โฃneed for โฃtranslation. Andโฃ aesthetics,โ in โthis case, must โbe the concept of ‘global Vietnamese aesthetics.'”
Le โคfurther emphasized that censorship of artistic programs โfor domestic โrelease doesโ not present a โbarrier to international dissemination.
this expansion comes as aโข significant number of Vietnamese descendants born after 2000 now reside on every continent, representing a substantial untapped โmarket โfor โขVietnamese artistic expression.
