“Published online on Tuesday March 21, the petition has already collected more than 10,000 signatures” welcomes in a press release released on April 17 the Collectif Corse Santé which with three unions, the CGT, the STC and FO launched this consultation to obtain the total reconstruction of the hospital. “This dilapidated site, over-indebted, not sufficiently provided with qualified doctors or medical staff, is coming to the end of its course and requires adapted premises, more efficient services, new equipment, efficient care spaces that only a new hospital will be able to to offer.” hammers the collective convinced that in the health establishment we cannot currently “treat in good conditions, even despite the goodwill and dedication of the staff.” “This facility is obsolete, we need more rooms, operating rooms… In fact, we need space, and this space can no longer be found in the existing hospital. There is no not a square meter available.” explained a few weeks ago CNI the general secretary of the collective, Danièle Franceschi. According to her, the logical limit of the hospital built in the early 80s, “no longer corresponds to the demography of the department and the influx of tourists during the summer period.”

Océane Ayala, an Ajaccienne qualified for the European University Championship
She had to leave the federal system for her studies. Océane Ayala started combat sports at the age of 12, at Aiacciu Kick Boxing. At 18, she left Corsica to settle in Aix-en-Provence, where she began her psychology studies at the University of Aix-Marseille. Left for five years with a view to a master’s degree, she competed in the French university championship of Kickboxing-MuayThai, organized last weekend under the aegis of the FFSU and the FFKMDA.
“She made three fights in the weekend before losing in the final against a world champion, Émeline Thomas, who was in the France team, says Bernard, his father. She was still very proud to fall against a world champion and to bow after a split decision (two judges designated the champion of France, another Océane).
Crowned university vice-champion, Océane is also awarded an individual distinction. “Her commitment and her qualities as a boxer earned her the trophy for best technician in this competition, proudly says the dad. This rewards the performance that the athlete was able to demonstrate both in his technical gestures and in his fair play. All shots must be precise, determined.”
A gratification which prompted the deputy national director of the French University Sports Federation to choose her to compete in the European University Championship, which will take place from July 20 to 24, 2023 in Zagreb (Croatia). Until then, the young Ajaccienne will take part in the regional university boxing championship in Nice on March 9.
Sporting de Bastia brings back a precious success from Grenoble (0-1)
Warnings: to FC Grenoble; Sainati (66th) at SC Bastia
Grenoble Foot
Maubleu, Monfray, Paquiez, Mendy then Gaspar (75th), Diarra, Bambock, Touray, Benet, Phaëton then Sbai (75th), Tell. then Meissa Ba (66th), Bamba
SC Bastia
Placide, Tavares, Sainati, KaibouëDucrocq, N’Diaye, Bonhert then Van den Kerkhoff (79th), Guidi, Vincent then Salles-Lamonge (71st), Santelli then Djoco (63rd), Baï then Magri (63rd)
These are two teams very close to each other – in the classification as well as on the technical, tactical and athletic level – which evolved this Friday evening on a lawn of the Stade des Alpes where the thermometer flirted with zero degrees.
But beyond these considerations, it was a question of one side as of the other of making fruitful its capital points to remain in contact with those which occupy the best places at the head of the championship.
Yet after the first period, despite some great opportunities on both sides, neither Grenoble Foot nor SC Bastia had managed to shake the nets.
We think in particular on the Grenoble side of the strike from Tell (27th), this aborted attempt by Phaëton (29th), this resumption of the lobed head of Tell which grazed the right upright of Placide.
On the Bastia side there was this opportunity signed Bonhert from the outset which ended with a free kick against… him and then at the end of the first period this tense cross from the same Bonhert that Maubleu finally repelled with both fists.
At the break, therefore, we could consider that Grenoble had had its good periods and had created the best chances, without managing to conclude against a team from Bastia who displayed a level very close to theirs.
The start of the second period of play confirmed this impression and if Bastia obtained a 7th corner, it was still Grenoble who were the most active in the opposing camp.
However it was only at the start of the last quarter of an hour when Régis Brouard had upset part of his team that the locals signed their best opportunity but it was without counting on Placide who stopped this attempt in a beautiful way de Ba that the entire Stade des Alpes already saw in the back of the visitors’ nets.
But Bastia also remained very active with increasingly sharp offensives.
And what had to happen happened, even if we expected more.
The Corsicans who had suffered until then would indeed take advantage of a local error to leave the Stade des Alpes with 3 points.
Comment ?
After a ball badly returned by the Grenoble defense, Djoco managed, in fact, to control at the entrance of the six meters and to shoot Maubleu with a clear strike.
And Bastia prevailed 1 to 0.
“Ad Lucem – Animal Souls”, an original exhibition to start the year of Una Volta
This beautiful exhibition is available in many forms: drawing, engraving, embroidery, sculpture… However, it was through photography that Lara Blanchard began her creative journey. ” In fact, I believe that this desire to create came to me from kindergarten. As a child, I loved to draw and in the end I learned everything on my own. I trust my hands. It is true that I studied photography as part of an art module in Strasbourg, but photography quickly became too flat for me. I then traveled quite a bit abroad, notably in Ireland, in contact with creators and craftsmen. Back in France, my artistic project took shape and I started to work on the material, whatever it was..».
L’inspiration ?
« I have a great interest in everything related to life sciences such as botany, zoology, anatomy. When I was a child, my mother had anatomy encyclopedias and forbade me to open them because of the pictures. But of course, when I was forbidden something, I only wanted to do it! »
The materials ?
« I use more and more: fabrics, clay, felt, ceramics. In fact today my hands work as well engraving as modelling, sewing, felting or embroidery. I receive by the head and my hands do the rest. In my creations I have moments of bliss. I like the idea of being in the craft. In fact, the border between art and craftsmanship is very thin. Today I have a desire, that of working with glass. I will come there I think».
These characters all in white that you exhibit?
« With them, I create spaces. White is neutral and so everyone can project their own colors, their culture. What I also like is the variety of exhibition venues. Each place is a new adventure for me. I adapt to it, but there is always this idea of walking my creations ».
Bigger characters?
« I expose 10 of them here. There are 3 in Evian too. They are therianthropes, beings half-man half-animal, primitive and contemporary at the same time, timeless. These characters are masked, frozen and seem to advance towards the public. Characters which according to the visitor can be an African or South American deity. Everyone can find resonance there for their own journey. I consider my characters as entities. Beyond cultures, they speak to everyone and are associated both with a very distant time and a very current ecological emergency. ».
Prints too?
« This is a drypoint etching work. I work on old textiles with coloring using watercolors or real gold. They represent animals, insects, anatomy that I approach through the idea of life. »
A soundtrack accompanies the exhibition…
« A soundscape in fact. I collect sounds in nature: rivers, birds, torrents, footsteps and then I rework them”.
Does nature inspire you?
« I love it. I live in Haute-Savoie in St Jean D’Aulps. This is where I have my studio. It’s my brain. At the moment I am renovating a barn there to spread out more (laughs).
In Corsica, you are served on the natural side…
« I discover your island for the 1time times. Unfortunately, I won’t stay there long, but I’ll come back for more, that’s for sure. Especially since I love hiking. In addition the reception is magnificent ».
Overall, nature-related projects are the most popular this year. “In 2021 the proposals were very focused on the historical heritage of the city. There we see very clearly that it revolves around greenery, ecology”, observes Antoine Graziani. In addition to the urban planters, an ambitious project is called “Trees for Bastia”, and aims to make the city center green. Another proposal aims to revitalize the open-air theater of Alb’Oru, to make it more usable and attractive.
But does it work in the end? Of the four projects designated last year, how many were implemented? As Antoine Graziani notes, the votes for 2021 were mainly directed towards the recovery of Bastia’s historical heritage. Gold, “As soon as it revolves around heritage, there are many procedures, especially for sites classified as historical monuments”. So if all the projects have started, they have not yet been successful. In the range of successes, however, the renewal of the majolica tiles of the church of Saint-Charles can be noted.
To choose your favorite projects, go to the site https://www.bastia.corsica/servizii/participazione-citatina/je-vote/ or in one of the following locations: Bastia Town Hall, Historic Center House, South District House, Public Services House, François Marchetti Social Center and Alb’Oru Cultural Centre.
Voting closes on December 31st.
