Antonio conte acknowledged he is unsure of the precise impact Kevin de Bruyne will have on the pitch for Napoli. However, he emphasized that the veteran’s experience is invaluable to the squad.

Napoli achieved an unexpected Serie A title in Antonio Conte‘s inaugural 2024/2025 season. Conte described this success as something he hadn’t anticipated.

The club, based at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, is now focused on building a robust and enduring foundation for the future.

“For me, nothing has changed.The mission to rebuild and integrate new elements to solidify our foundation is ongoing. The club is aware of this, the President is aware, and we are all in agreement that this journey will continue,” stated Conte.

As part of their forward-looking strategy, Napoli has secured the services of experienced player Kevin de Bruyne. the 34-year-old midfielder joined the team on a free transfer upon the expiration of his contract with Manchester City.

De Bruyne marks Napoli’s first acquisition of the summer. He has been joined by other new signings, including young defender luca Marianucci, 20, from Empoli, and 26-year-old attacker Noa Lang from PSV. Additionally, striker Lorenzo Lucca, aged 24, has also been brought into the fold.

These signings, alongside De Bruyne, align with Napoli’s long-term progress plans. Conte elaborated on the strategic importance of bringing De Bruyne to the club.

“It’s premature to make definitive statements now; we will reconvene at the end of the year to assess this player’s impact. What is certain is that he is a player who requires no introduction. Our objective is to elevate the team’s quality, and his presence will undoubtedly contribute to that,” conte was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
