New Initiative Bridges Gap Between Journalistsโ and โDigital creators
DALLAS, TX โข- November 11, 2025 – โฃA new program, the News Creator Exchangeโ (NCX), launched today โaims to foster โฃcollaboration between traditional journalists and self-reliantโ digital creators,โ prioritizing ethical standardsโข and skill-sharing in โคa rapidly evolving media landscape. โขThe โinitiative,โข a partnership between WAN-IFRA and the Googleโ Newsโ Initiative’s Global Newsโ Gaps Project, โseeksโ to address challenges in โreaching audiences andโฃ maintaining journalistic integrity in โฃtheโ age of social media and platform-driven content.
the NCX โprogram recognizes a growing need for news organizations to adapt to new content formats and platforms, while concurrently ensuring rigorous verification and accountability. It will connect journalists with creators -โ some of whom already possess journalisticโ training, others โคspecializing in content creationโ – offering mentorship and resources to maintain editorial standards. WAN-IFRA โคwill identify and support 150 emerging news voices, providing two years of sponsored membership and โmentoring toโข help them achieve sustainability.
“creators can learn our verification practices, and journalists โcan learn how to engage audiences in ways the newsroom may not,” explained โฃNCX representative, Jean-Franรงois Caulliez. โ the program will also encourage newsroomsโ to empower younger โstaff to experiment with innovative approaches, supported by clear guidelines.
Key to the initiative’s success, โขaccording to panellists Esguerra and Lubis, is a reciprocal exchange of โskills, with accountability remainingโ paramount. Those interested inโ updates from NCX can scanโ the QR code provided.
