garching,Germany – November 15,2025 – The administration of the Max planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE),the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA),and the Max Planck Computing and Data Facility (MPCDF) is seeking a part-time Working Student (m/f/d) for its archive. The position, code number 28/2025, is available quickly and offers a maximum of 20 working hours per week.
The joint administration, organizationally assigned to the MPE in Garching near Munich, supports approximately 650 institute members. The MPE and MPA are internationally recognized leaders in astrophysics, while the MPCDF provides high-performance computing, application development, and data management services to Max Planck Institutes across Germany.
Responsibilities include:
* Restructuring the personnel data archive from alphabetical to chronological order.
* Developing and maintaining a detailed inventory of all archived files.
* Separating and destroying time-expired files in compliance with data protection regulations.
* Archiving files of recently retired employees in coordination with administrative staff.
* Managing archive supplies (hanging files, folders, labels).
* Ensuring lawful destruction of no-longer-needed archive materials.
Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in studies.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a structured, reliable, and autonomous manner.
* Proficiency in MS Office programs.
* Good German language skills.
