Along with the unconvincing start Manchester United This season, a number of players highlighted their performance. Three names are considered to have qualities that are too ordinary for MU.

Manchester United started the season in awkward form. Indeed, two wins were won from three matches — one match ended in defeat — but it was obtained with great difficulty.

The ‘Red Devils’ lost to dominance when they hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first week. Despite winning 1-0, MU was unable to keep up with Wolves’ midfield, which even ‘almost’ got a penalty to equalize the score at the end of the game.

More broadly, the man who is now the commentator also sees that MU’s recruitment so far has not shown anything convincing. Especially the players who were recruited because of a history of working with Ten Hag at Ajax, such as Antony, Lisandro Martinez, to Andre Onana.

This shows the difference in demands in the Dutch League and the English League.

“In terms of recruitment, Ten Hag has been very dependent on the players he knows. They all have to show their teeth for him now,” he continued.

“It’s been a quantum leap, from playing for Ajax in the Eredivisie to going to the biggest club in England and playing like a tournament final every week, and that’s exactly what he’s asking of these players.”

“I don’t think any of them have met the standards needed to make Manchester United the best team in the country again,” Souness added.
