Switzerland: The driver who struck a policewoman arrested – Miscellaneous

A policewoman was hit and dragged for several meters by a car during a Friday evening check in Zurich. The unhappy 38-year-old girl was seriously injured. The driver, a 19-year-old Swiss who fled, was arrested on Saturday afternoon and imprisoned.

When asked to stop for a check, the driver pretended to comply before backing up and then accelerating. He then struck the officer, who had to be transported to the hospital where she was operated on in critical condition.

The young motorist, domiciled in the canton, was found on Saturday by investigators from the cantonal police, said the latter on Sunday. The duty prosecutor requested his pre-trial detention, and his vehicle was kidnapped. No one else was injured. (Ps / nxp)
