Reform the PDC before it’s too late, and that means the disappearance of the “C”, reaffirms party chairman Gerhard Pfister in interviews with Morning Sunday and la Sunday newspaper.
To support his point in this crystallizing debate, he mentions the result of a poll conducted by the party: “80% of respondents in the population believe that our party is not eligible because of its religious connotation, even if they share our political positions. “
The PDC also polled its members and 53% of them believe that the Christian reference is an obstacle to attract voters. This opinion is shared by 52% of the Jurassians, 57% of the Vaudois, 58% of the Genevans and even 59% of the Friborg people, specifies Le Matin Dimanche.
Even in Valais
Even in Valais, where the tenors of the party insist absolutely on the “C”, almost half of the members of the party (48%) think on the contrary that its disappearance would be the best option.
