Swiss curler with third defeat in a row

(sda) As in the previous defeats, the third-placed Olympics Valentin Tanner, Skip Peter De Cruz, Sven Michel and Benoît Schwarz from CC Geneva gave up the match in the second half. They had everything under control until they gave the Danes, who had previously only won two out of nine games, a house of three in the 8th end. The Swiss were able to use the advantage of the last stone in the 9th end for only one point and caught the decisive two in the 10th end.

After the interim result of 5: 5 victories, the Geneva team still has the opportunity to reach the knockout games of the best six teams and thereby secure Switzerland’s direct starting place at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022. To do this, however, they will probably all have to win the last three rounds of the Round Robin (against the Netherlands, South Korea and China).

The game between Switzerland and the Netherlands will take place on Thursday at 5 p.m. Swiss time.
