As he writes Swedish daily newspaper, Johan Kilensherna fears that high temperatures will provoke forest fires and large-scale melting of glaciers. As a result, he said, it will begin to sag soil, which would jeopardize dams and other structures in settlements.
The specialist also warned that more methane and carbon dioxide will be released in the atmosphere, and this will enhance the greenhouse effect.
