Pa Konate (26) is according to Swedish Expressen on the way to Rosenborg.
Swedish-Guinean Konate, who plays left-back, will thus be reunited with Åge Hareide, who was his coach in Swedish Malmö back in 2014 and 2015.
Sports director Micke Dorsin has not responded to Adresseavisen’s inquiries.
Plays at level two
Konate comes from Jönköpings Södra who plays in the Superettan. The left-back was without a contract, but was signed by the Swedish club at the second highest level this summer.
The defender signed a contract for the rest of the year with the Swedish club this summer. Now he is on his way to Rosenborg.
Konate will be Hareide’s first signing as RBK boss. Both Hareide and Dorsin have signaled that the left-back is the first priority in the transfer market now.
Serie A and USA
He was sold back in 2017 from Malmö to SPAL in Serie A. There was no success. Furthermore, he was loaned to Cincinnati in American MLS, before he played for Swedish GIF Sundsvall in 2019. And most recently – Jönköpings Södra in the Superettan.
Vegar Eggen Hedenstad has played on the left back for RBK lately. Earlier this summer, the people of Trøndelag sold both Birger Meling (Nîmes in France) and Anders Trondsen (Trabzonspor in Turkey).
