A Family’s Loss, A Show’s Tribute
News of **Edwards**’ death was shared by his grandson and fellow *Swamp People* cast member, **“Little” Willie Edwards**, via a Facebook announcement. He posted a heartfelt tribute alongside a photo of his father and grandfather on a boat.

While the cause of death was not publicly disclosed, recent social media posts from earlier in July indicated **Edwards** had been facing health challenges, with his family seeking prayers for a miracle recovery.
‘Swamp People’ Legacy
**Junior Edwards** was a prominent face on *Swamp People* from its premiere in 2010, appearing in the first six seasons. He returned for Season 12, accumulating a total of 100 episodes over his tenure. The show, which chronicles the lives of Louisiana alligator hunters, recently concluded its 16th season in April and is slated for a 2026 return.
Co-stars **Ronnie Adams** and **Ashley “Deadeye” Jones** have paid their respects. **Adams** offered condolences, writing, “Praying for the Edward’s [sic] in this time of need!!! Rest in peace Junior!!!”
