‘Suspected murder of girlfriend in Volendam under the influence of cocaine’

A 34-year-old man from Volendam who is suspected of killing his girlfriend last weekend was under the influence of drugs. The victim told her family shortly before her death that he had used cocaine.

This is evident from a sound recording owned by NH News, in which a relative of the woman explains what he says happened last weekend. The suspect’s family also suspects that he was under the influence of drugs.

Past Sunday Police found the 28-year-old woman’s body after reporting a suspicious situation. The suspect was also present in the house. He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. In the audio recording it is said that he wanted to take his own life.

The police announced yesterday that they had arrested the man.

Cocaine

According to the relative, the victim ate with her parents on Saturday night after she fled the house because her boyfriend had used cocaine. After dinner she went back home. When the family did not hear from her anymore, it was decided on Sunday to call in the emergency services.

Her parents did this after consultation with the suspect’s family. “It didn’t feel right. We also said let’s call the police,” said a family member. “We all knew he snorted too much from time to time,” said a relative of the 34-year-old. “It’s always had a rough edge. But this, no one had seen this coming.”

Research

Police cannot confirm drug use. According to a spokesman, the investigation is still ongoing. Today, forensic investigations are being carried out in the home, among other things.

The suspect is still in hospital and in complete disability. This means that he may only have contact with his lawyer. The police will not say anything about the nature of his injuries.
