Suspect on Motorcycle Pulls Necklace From Necks of NYC Women Within Minutes – NBC New York

Within minutes, a suspected motorcycle robber in New York City tore or attempted to remove the necklaces of several women in Manhattan and the Bronx, police said.

The first case was reported on Monday, May 2, at about 1:29 p.m., when a 22-year-old woman was walking on the corner of Grand Concourse and East 150 Street, in the Bronx, and the suspect, who was on a red and black motorcycle, approached the victim from behind and tore off her gold chain valued at about $800, police said. The young woman fell to the ground and although she ended up in pain, she preferred not to receive medical attention.

The next robbery occurred the same day just a few minutes later, at about 1:39 p.m., when a 30-year-old woman was waiting at the intersection of Saint Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan, police said. The suspect, in the same way, removed the gold necklace with the pendant valued at about $405, police added. This time the victim was not injured.

A few minutes later, at 1:44 pm, the alleged thief tried to steal the necklace of a 27-year-old woman, on the corner of Seaman Avenue y West 214 Street in Manhattan, but was unsuccessful, police said. The woman was not injured.

A minute later, at 1:45 pm, the alleged thief on his motorcycle tried again to steal the jewelry from a 36-year-old woman who was in front of the business. Beauty Beauty, in 94 Nagle Avenue, but did not succeed, authorities said. The chain, worth about $1,100, broke and the victim, who was not injured, retrieved it from the ground.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s who was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark blue pants, black and gray sneakers and on a red and black motorcycle with a white case.
