Gregory R., the suspect in the file about the nude photos of various BVs, has been released under conditions. His lawyer confirms this. The 27-year-old Gentenaar was placed under an arrest warrant earlier this week.

The man has confessed to having tricked several BVs with a false profile and tricked them into sending him explicit photos and videos. He passed it on to a 22-year-old friend, who then distributed it through various channels. The 22-year-old friend had also been arrested but previously released under conditions.
In early September, explicit nude images of three male BVs were circulated, mainly via WhatsApp but also via other social media such as TikTok. These are Stan Van Samang, Peter Van de Veire and Sean Dhondt. The images also surfaced on internet forums, but one of the people involved engaged a lawyer to put an end to it.
The case is a clear case of ‘catfishing’, in which the victims were trapped via the fake social media profile of someone posing as ‘Eveline’. After a complaint from Stan Van Samang, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office also opened a judicial investigation.
Earlier this week, two suspects were arrested, 27-year-old Gregory R. and a 22-year-old friend from Antwerp. They made confessions, after which the investigating judge placed R. under arrest warrant and released the second suspect under conditions. On Thursday, R. was therefore released under conditions. The lawyers of both suspects do not comment on the case.
