The highest turnout in presidential elections was recorded in the Mazowieckie voivodship, the lowest was in the Opolskie voivodship – shows a late poll study carried out by Ipsos. The poll shows that residents of large cities voted more readily than those living in the countryside.

According to Ipsos, the turnout in the presidential election was 63.8 percent. If this survey is confirmed, it will be the highest turnout since 1995.

Surveys show that the most people went to the polls in the following voivodships: Mazowieckie (69.6%), Małopolskie (66.3%) and Lubuskie (66%).

At the opposite extreme were the voivodships: Opolskie (58 percent), Warmian-Masurian (58.9 percent) and Świętokrzyskie (59.1 percent).

The turnout in the countryside was 61.7 percent. The same was recorded in medium-sized cities (51-200 thousand inhabitants).

In other cities it was higher. 63.6 percent voters went to the polls in cities with up to 50,000 inhabitants, 65 percent – in cities with more than 200,000, but not more than 500,000 inhabitants. Most voters voted in major cities, those over half a million inhabitants – 71 percent.

What was the turnout in age groups? The youngest voters went to the polls more eagerly (voter turnout in the 18-29 age group was 64%) than the oldest voters – in the 60 plus age group it was 55.4%. However, the highest turnout was in the age group 50-59 – 72.3 percent.

Women (65.3%) voted more often than men (62.1%).
