Survey: How many Latvians are satisfied with the final version of the county reform – in Latvia

On June 10, the Saeima in the final reading adopted the Law on Administrative Territorial Reform, which envisages that in a year the number of local governments in Latvia will decrease from the current 119 to 42. Despite the objections of many local governments, the President has promulgated the law and entered into force. But what is the opinion of the population? This was explained by TV3’s “900 Seconds” in the latest survey.

45% of Latvians aged 18 to 60 have indicated that they are generally satisfied with this final version of the Administrative Territorial Reform.

About a third or 31% of the population have admitted that they are not satisfied with such an outcome.

On the other hand, about a quarter (24%) of the Latvian population do not have a specific opinion on this issue.
