“The good news for today is that Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia, with the support of France, are close to an agreement that takes into account the interests and concerns of both parties,” EC President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter about the new French proposal for annulment of the Bulgarian veto against the start of negotiations on the membership of Skopje with the EU.
It is clear from the tweet that she had a conversation with Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and the European Commission is ready to start the screening process for Macedonia and Albania, which is the next step on their European path.
