jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Doctor Wirya A. Graha, Sp.BTKV, Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgeon Bethsaida Hospital revealed that pregnancy is a risk factor for varicose veins.

The effects of varicose veins can indeed be mild or just a cosmetic problem.

However, said dr. Wirya, if not treated properly, the disease can have a serious impact on health.

Starting from swelling of the legs, feet become heavier, numb, sore and tingling.

“In this phase, patients feel disturbed when doing physical activities,” said doctor Wirya in a health discussion in Jakarta, Thursday (27/1).

He continued, complaints of aches and cramps usually occur at night or after walking and doing excessive activities.

In a much more serious condition, varicose veins can cause sores which persists for years.

Therefore, the treatment of varicose veins must be done with the right method according to the severity.
